Hercules (Kevin Sorbo) and Nebula (Gina Torres) arrive in Corinth searching for the Gem of Creation. The gem has the power to hold the demonic Dahak (Michael Hurst) immobile from sunrise to sunset -- and this may be the only hope for releasing the soul of Hercules' deceased friend, Iolaus (also Michael Hurst), from the villain's grasp. Wrapping the greedy King Midas (Noel Trevarthen) around her little finger, the beautiful but treacherous Voluptua (Jennifer Ward-Leland) uses Midas' vast wealth to establish the Touch of Gold gambling palace. Upon realizing that the palace is actually a shrine to corruption and evil, Midas demands that it be destroyed, only to be locked up by Voluptua's minions. This calamitous situation is the handiwork of Hercules' treacherous stepmother Hera, in whose immortal hands the Eternal Torch has been passed. To retrieve this valuable flame and save Mankind, Hercules must do battle with a giant, a duplicitous wood sprite and his own Olympian father Zeus (Anthony Quinn). Tawny Kitean is seen as the enigmatic Deianeira, a role played in earlier Hercules films by Renee O'Connor. This drama was based on the novel Joseph Greer and His Daughter by Henry Kitchell Webster. Inventor Joseph Greer (Lewis Stone) has been separated from his wife for many years, and suddenly discovers he must look after Beatrice (Shirley Mason), his grown daughter who he didn't even know existed. Greer has created a new way to make linen and he is being backed by a group of financiers. Although he does not agree with their marketing schemes, he hopes that his connection to them will help Beatrice socially. Instead, it creates disaster. Vi Williamson (Ethel Grey Terry), the wife of one of the money men (David Torrence), makes a pass at Greer, and when he turns her down, she becomes vengeful. She turns her husband against Greer, and he ruins the inventor. Beatrice, meanwhile, marries Burns (Hugh Allen), the chauffeur. Greer takes to drinking, but with the help of Beatrice and her husband, he pulls himself together. His secretary, Jennie McArthur (Barbara Bedford), also returns, and Greer fights his way back to the top. ~ Janiss Garza, All Movie Guide
