Dina's been killed, and Jack (Kiefer Sutherland) is now genuinely Marwan's (Arnold Vosloo) prisoner. After some bickering with Jack, Marwan learns that the local police are looking into the disappearance of the murdered pilot's family, and comes up with a plan to distract CTU so they won't notice the report when they get it. He calls CTU and offers to exchange Jack for Behrooz (Jonathan Ahdout). CTU has no idea why Marwan would want Behrooz, so Tony (Carlos Bernard) tells Curtis (Roger R. Cross) to interrogate the boy and find out if he's withheld any information. Just as Marwan planned, the decision over whether or not to make the exchange, and the logistics of the exchange prevent Chloe (Mary Lynn Rajskub) and Edgar (Louis Lombardi) from noticing the pertinent information in the local police report until it is too late. Bill Buchanan (James Morrison) shows up from Division to oversee operations at CTU Los Angeles, and decides to go through with an exchange, putting a hidden tracking device on the distraught Behrooz in hopes of finding Marwan. Meanwhile, Anderson (Ned Vaughn) faces a setback in his efforts to steal a Stealth fighter. ~ Josh Ralske, All Movie Guide

Stars Martin Lawrence and Will Smith return along with director Michael Bay and producer Jerry Bruckheimer for this sequel to the 1995 sleeper hit Bad Boys, the film that sparked the careers of both actors, as well as Bay. Once again, Lawrence and Smith play hotshot, wisecracking Miami narcotics officers Marcus Burnett and Mike Lowrey. This time around, Burnett and Lowrey have been assigned to head up a task force to investigate the illegal trafficking of ecstasy into the city. They discover that an underground gang war has been instigated by drug kingpin Johnny Tapia (Jordi Molla). In order to cut off the flow of the designer drug, they have to take down Tapia. Unfortunately, there's a wrench thrown into the gears in the form of Burnett's sister Syd, whom Lowrey takes a liking to and begins a relationship with. Tensions rise between the partners, threatening both their friendship and the investigation and putting Syd in harm's way. Also returning from the first film are Joe Pantoliano as Captain Howard, Theresa Randle as Burnett's wife Theresa, and former-NBA star John Salley as 'Hacker' Fletcher. Among the supporting players new to this entry in the series are Peter Stormare and musician, spoken-word artist, and sometimes-actor Henry Rollins. ~ Matthew Tobey, All Movie Guide

Rap star and actor Ice Cube produces, co-writes, and stars in this comic crime thriller that reunites him with his Next Friday (1999) co-star Mike Epps in the 48 Hrs. (1982) mold. Cube plays Bucum Jackson, a Miami bounty hunter for Martinez Bail Bonds who's tired of his dangerous, unprofitable profession and wants to start his own private investigation firm. Lacking stake money, Bucum is forced to hunt down a small-time grafter named Reggie Wright (Epps), a fast-talking confidence man who's crossed his path before. Except that this time, Wright tries to avoid his pursuer by hiding in a van being driven by a pair of murderous diamond thieves who've just made off with 20 million dollars worth of stones. They're in the employ of lethal crime lord and yacht broker Williamson (Tommy Flanagan), someone that neither Reggie nor Bucum is anxious to cross, but it seems that Reggie left his wallet in the van, a wallet containing a winning lottery ticket worth 60 million dollars. The hunt is on for big money as the mismatched duo tries to outfox a wily syndicate for both the ticket and the precious gems. The directorial debut of music video director Kevin Bray, All About the Benjamins (2002) co-stars Eva Mendes, Carmen Chaplin, Valarie Rae Miller, Jeff Chase, Roger Guenveur Smith, Anthony Michael Hall, and Lil' Bow Wow. ~ Karl Williams, All Movie Guide
