Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan is fondly regarded as being the closest in spirit to the 1966-69 TV series that spawned it. Admiral Kirk (William Shatner) escapes the tedium of a desk job to join Mr. Spock (Leonard Nimoy) and Dr. Leonard "Bones" McCoy (DeForest Kelley) on another space mission. While boldly going where no man etc. etc., Kirk crosses the path of his old enemy Khan (Ricardo Montalban), who as any die-hard Trekker can tell you, was the chief antagonist in the 1966 Trek TV episode "Space Seed." Leading a crew of near-savage space prisoners, Khan insinuates himself into the Genesis Project, which is designed to introduce living organisms on long-dead planets. Intending to harness this program for his own despotic purposes, Khan engages in battle with the Enterprise crew. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide

In the opening episode of The Rockford Files' third season, private eye Jim Rockford (James Garner) can't get the police to believe that his stewardess friend Lori Jenivan (Sharon Gless) is being pursued by a killer. But the fact is that Lori has been vulnerable to attack ever since she made an offhand comment to "frequent flyer" Timpson Farrell (John McMartin), a widely respected rare coin collector. Unfortunately, the girl was the proverbial Wrong Person in the Wrong Place at the Wrong Time--and she has tumbled to the fact that Mr. Farrell moonlights as a professional hit man. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide
The initials in the episode's title stand for "Grand Theft Auto", and that particular crime is what occupies the time of Officers Jim Reed (Kent McCord) and Pete Malloy (Martin Milner). Several older automobiles have been stolen over a short period of time, and the two cops figure that the solution to this crime wave may be found in a local scrap-metal yard which caters to foreign customers. Featured in the cast is veteran movie heavy Leo Gordon, who also scripted this episode. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide
John Williams guest stars as Bill Walston, a British police inspector who shows up in San Francisco, ostensibly to a attend a convention. Linking up with his old friend Ironside (Raymond Burr), Walston effusively offers to help the Chief in his investigation of a robbery. What Ironside doesn't know is that Walston is seriously ill--and that the good Inspector was himself the mastermind behind the heist. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide
With his newly-purchased camera in hand, John (Randolph Mantooth) drives his coworkers at Squad 51 crazy by constantly snapping "candid" photos. But the team recovers its sanity in time to rescue the victims of a schoolhouse arsonist, to determine if a fireman has collapsed from heart failure or food poisoning, to save a woman who has been bitten by a scorpion, and to prevent a truckful of dynamite from causing wholesale destruction. Also, Dr. Brackett (Robert Fuller) and nurse Dixie (Julie London) go out for a nice quiet lunch--only to end up delivering another diner's baby. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide
