Still hoping to win the heart of Charlotte (Laura Linney), Frasier goes out of his way to prove that he is the polar opposite of her cloddish but undenyingly charming ex-boyfriend, Frank (Aaron Eckhart). Somehow things don't turn out as planned with Frasier succeeding only in winning Frank's lifelong friendship. Meanwhile, Roz (Peri Gilpin) and Daphne (Jane Leeves) gang up on Martin (John Mahoney) when he prepares to give Ronee (Wendie Malick) an "inappropriate" engagement present. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide
Marian Seldes appears as Betty, the mother of Martin's fiancée, Ronee Lawrence (Wendie Malick). Betty has never liked or trusted Martin (John Mahoney), but he vows to make the best of things when she pays a visit. As for the rest of the Crane clan, Frasier continues obsessing over Charlotte (Laura Linney), but that doesn't prevent him from getting mixed up with another girl named Kim (Jennifer Tilly) -- a brief fling that unexpectedly turns into a major public event. And arrow-narrow Niles (David Hyde Pierce) suddenly develops a craving for fattening fast food. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide
Saturday Night Live's Julia Duffy returns in the role of Ann, a beautful but gauche insurance agent with whom Frasier (Kelsey Grammer) had had a disastrous date a few episodes back. Somewhat surprisingly, Frasier is now cozying up to Ann, hoping to get back in her good graces. What the audience knows (but Ann doesn't) is that Frasier is merely trying to wangle a price break with his life insurance. The scheme backfires when Ann suffers an injury in Frasier's apartment, forcing our hero to wait on her hand and foot for fear of a costly lawsuit. Elsewhere, Niles (David Hyde Pierce) courts a lengthy prison term -- or at the very least, public humiliation -- by agreeing to help an incarcerated Maris. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide
A misdelivered letter has Frasier (Kelsey Grammer) and Niles (David Hyde Pierce) obsessing over an exclusive getaway spa. The brothers know the name of the spa but not the location and are determined to find out. This situation culminates in a mad scheme wherein Niles impersonates Frasier's testy neighbor, Cal. Meanwhile, a chance remark by Daphne (Jane Leeves) puts a crimp in Martin's (John Mahoney) leisure activities. Co-star David Hyde Pierce was injured while filming this episode, but you'd never know it. ~ All Movie Guide

Bebe Neuwirth makes her final Frasier appearance as Lilith Sternin, the mercurial ex-wife of Frasier Crane (Kelsey Grammer). Arriving in Seattle for a one-day conference, a lonely Lilith allows herself to be talked into a blind date. At the same time, Frasier (Kelsey Grammer) also agrees to date a visiting woman, sight unseen. Can there be any doubt at this point that the unwitting Frasier and Lilith have been slated to go out with each other? Meanwhile, Martin (John Mahoney), Niles (David Hyde Pierce), and Daphne (Jane Leeves) try to cover up the damage inflicted on Frasier's apartment by a not-so-concealed weapon. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide
In the conclusion of a two-part story, Niles' ex-wife Maris has been arrested for the murder of her lover Esteban -- with a weapon (an antique crossbow) lent to her by the hapless Niles (David Hyde Pierce). The ensuing media frenzy turns Maris into a celebrity, much to the dismay of Niles' pregnant -- and very moody -- wife, Daphne (Jane Leeves). And in his capacity as self-appointed "family spokesperson," Frasier manages to make a bad situation terrible during a press conference. Throughout the chaos, Niles remains unusually cool, calm, and collected...until, in an explosion of panic, he literally bares all at the Café Nervosa. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide
Zooey Deschanel guest stars as Roz's wild, impulsive, and highly opinionated cousin Jen. The girl's aggressive personality drives Frasier (Kelsey Grammer) up a wall and leaves Roz (Peri Gilpin) exhausted trying to keep up with her cousin's round-the-clock partying. About the only person who truly hits it off with Jen is KACL station manager Kenny Daly (Tom McGowan), who feels he needs her sort of excitement in his life -- maybe permanently. Elsewhere, Martin (John Mahoney) tries to snooker Daphne (Jane Leeves) into continuing to tend his needs. ~ All Movie Guide

- Tom McGowan, Zooey Deschanel, (more)
Although there's little love lost between Frasier (Kelsey Grammer) and his carniverous agent Bebe (Harriet Sansom Harris), something bad always happens when our hero is represented by someone else. This time, Frasier's new agent is young Portia Sanders (Kristin Chenoweth), whose eagerness to please borders on the annoying. The limit comes when Portia gets involved in the rivalry between Frasier and competiting radio shrink Dr. Zach (Chris Berg). ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide
Frasier (Kelsey Grammer) takes a liking to Roz' new boyfriend Luke Parker (Gary Cole). Their friendship is such that when Roz (Peri Gilpin) breaks up with Luke, she soon patches things up with him for Frasier's sake. This leads to a dilemma when Roz is afraid to tell Frasier that she and Luke are back together again. The reason? Frasier was so sweet and consoling when the couple broke up, Roz doesn't want Frasier to think that his kind words were "wasted" on a happy romance! And just when things couldn't get any more complicated, good old Luke turns out to be not so "good old" after all. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide
