Blockbuster action director Michael Bay delivers a striking look at a strange world of the future in this sci-fi action drama. Midway through the 21st century, Lincoln Six Echo (Ewan McGregor) lives in a confined indoor community after ongoing abuse of the Earth has rendered most of the planet uninhabitable. One of the only places in the outside world still capable of sustaining life is an idyllic island where citizens are chosen to live through a lottery. Or at least that's what Lincoln and his fellow citizens are taught to believe; the truth is that Lincoln, like everyone he knows, is actually a clone who is kept under wraps to provide needed organs when the person who supplied his or her DNA falls ill. When he becomes aware that his existence is a fraud, Lincoln escapes to the outside world with a fellow clone, Jordan Two Delta (Scarlett Johansson), though the powers that be are determined to see that no one gets away alive. Monk (Tony Shalhoub) is placed on a new medication which modifies his obsessive-compulsive disorder, making him a more relaxed and well-adjusted person--in fact, he's now so laid back that he's abandoned his conservative business suit in favor of a garishly flowered Hawaiian shirt! Unfortunately, Monk's gain is the SFPD's loss: The medication has seriously impaired his crimesolving abilities. As it happens, the "new" Monk could not have emerged at a less convenient time: Captain Stottlemeyer (Ted Levine) has been shot and wounded, and his assailant is still at large. The CSI team investigates when a young coed, about to move back home, disappears without a trace from her campus dorm room. Even more curious, all of the girl's belongings were left behind. This and other baffling clues lead the crew to conclude that the case's solution may lie in the Chaos Theory, wherein seemingly harmless and unimportant events culminate in disaster. The seven-year saga of Star Trek: Voyager ended with the two-part "time-straddling" adventure "Endgame." "Endgame, Pt. 1" begins some ten years after Voyager was able to return to earth, having spent 23 long years in the Delta Quadrant. Presiding over a reunion with her surviving crew, an elderly, white-haired Kathryn Janeway (Kate Mulgrew), now a Starfleet Admiral, seems strangely unhappy and distant -- especially when someone brings up the name of Seven of Nine. "Borrowing" some downloaded information from Cmdr. Barclay (Dwight Schultz), Janeway travels back in time to help her younger self return home via a quicker route than the Delta Quadrant -- and, she hopes, to spare several of her colleagues from their ultimate dismal fates. Armed with "insider" information--mainly, that Pennbrook College's star football player Jerry Mungo (Grant Garrison) may lose his eligibility because of terrible grades--Jack (Matthew Lawrence) places what sounds like very small bet on Pennbrook's rival amish. Eric (Will Friedle) matches Jack's bet, little realizing that he has wagered a thousand dollars! Joyce (Kristine Sutherland) is out on a slayer patrol with Buffy (Sarah Michelle Gellar) when they come across the bodies of two dead children, both bearing wierd symbols on their hands. It is Giles' (Anthony Head) view that the children may have been murdered by students practicing the occult. Joyce becomes incensed by this idea, and, with the help of Mrs. Rosenberg -- Willow's (Alyson Hannigan) mom -- forms "MOO" or Mothers Opposed to the Occult. Soon, MOO confiscates Giles' library books and other Sunnydale students begin picking on classmates suspected of occult activity. Also, the ghosts of the two dead children appear to Joyce and insist on her avenging their murder. Meanwhile, Buffy and friends discover a demon that takes on the forms of two young children -- Hans and Greta Strauss -- whose deaths engender persecutorial insincts among humans who then seek out and kill the murderer. ~ All Movie Guide
