William Shatner delivers a bravura performance as septugenarian hoodlum Thomas Kroll. In order to solve a 34-year-old mob murder for which Kroll was responsible, the IMF has to stage a meticulous re-enactment of the crime. The easy part is constructing a realistic replica of a 1937 Chicago neighborhood (actually the familiar Paramount Pictures backlot); the hard part is convincing Kroll that he is nearly four decades younger! Stephen Elliot makes his final Mission: Impossible appearance as IMF agent Dr. Dougl Lane, here posing as Kroll's victim. Candy makes good his long-standing promise to quit the Ponderosa to join his longtime sweetheart Lila Holden (Elizabeth MacRae) in the town of River Bend. His dreams of starting life anew are shattered when he is arrested on a trumped-up charge and held without bail. Hoping to help Candy out, the Cartwrights enter into a dangerous confrontation with murderous, graft-grabbing Sheriff Booker (Robert Wilke and his equally disreputable deputy Horn (Steve Brodie). Written by David Lang, "Trouble Town" originally aired on March 17, 1968, then was afforded a special "encore presentation" by NBC in the Spring of 1972. In the first of three episodes filmed in Hawaii, Jeannie (Barbara Eden) and Tony (Larry Hagman) cross the paths of a clever con artist named Charlie (Milton Berle). Hoping to get his mitts on the valuable King Tut scarab pin in Jeannie's possession, Charlie "trades" the bauble for Diamondhead Beach, with the help of a partner in crime named Vanderhaven (Fred Clark).
