A struggling writer unlocks the full potential of his brain by taking a cutting-edge pharmaceutical, only to find that his newfound abilities have made him a target for some of the most greedy and dangerous men on the planet. Eddie Morra (Bradley Cooper) is an author without a novel. No matter how hard he tries, he just can't summon the inspiration to write a single word. That all changes when an old friend wanders back into Eddie's life, and opens his eyes to a powerful new drug called NZT. The moment Eddie takes NZT, his brain begins functioning at 100 percent, giving him the ability to quickly recall every event in his life down to the smallest detail, learn new languages in a flash, and harness the untapped power of complex mathematical equations. But when Eddie's supply of NZT runs out, the party is over. Of course, it doesn't take Eddie long to make a mint on Wall Street, and when he does, it draws the attention of Carl Van Loon (Robert De Niro), one of the world's most powerful and prominent businessmen. With Eddie's help, Carl plots to arbitrate a complex corporate merger that will shake the establishment to its very core. Just as the deal is about to be brokered, however, some dangerous characters discover Eddie's secret and come gunning for his dwindling supply of medicine. Now, if Eddie can just endure the debilitating side effects of NZT long enough to run for his life, he may just survive to see another day. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi

In the conclusion of the two-part adventure "Flesh and Blood," the renegade holograms, originally created as an instructional tool for the Hirogens by Capt. Janeway (Kate Mulgrew), have disabled the Voyager and escaped with Torres (Roxann Dawson) as hostage. If she wants to live, Torres will have to help the rebels upgrade their technology so that they can overthrow the Hirogens. Meanwhile, Janeway tries to deal with the fact that her longtime colleague, the Doctor (Robert Picardo), has cast his lot with the hologram insurgents, who worship him as a God! "Flesh and Blood, Part II" first aired on November 29, 2000, in a two-hour block along with Part I. ~ Hal Erickson, Rovi

This two-part story finds the Voyager smack in the middle of a hologram rebellion. Years earlier, Janeway (Kate Mulgrew) had created a holographic program to enable the Hirogens to learn hunting skills without actually killing anyone or anything. Unfortunately, the Hirogens "improved" upon the program, making it genuinely dangerous -- and the holograms have risen up against their controllers. This tense situation threatens to drive a permanent wedge between Janeway and the Doctor (Robert Picardo), who, of course, is a hologram himself. "Flesh and Blood, Part I" first aired on November 29 2000, in a two-hour block along with Part II. ~ Hal Erickson, Rovi

It now appears that the separation between Niles (David Hyde Pierce) and his wife Maris has reached the permanent stage. This doesn't prevent Niles from still holding out the faint hope that Maris will return. It also prevents Niles from asking Frasier (Kelsey Grammer) point-blank whether or not he should press for a reconciliation -- forcing Frasier to do some very, very deep thinking over the next several days. As usual, the role of Maris is unfilled, and the character remains an invisible but very powerful force. ~ Rovi

This episode is a delightfully calculated slam at Murder, She Wrote's Thursday-night competition Friends. Visiting the set of the popular twentysomething sitcom "Buds", Jessica (Angela Lansbury) quickly realizes that there is plenty of disharmony amongst the young and attractive cast members. Making matters worse, the series' avaricious producer is planning to hype the ratings by killing off one of the characters--in the script, that is. Before long, however, life imitates art, and Jessica sets her mind to exposing a murderer. The real fun in this episode derives from guessing which of the "Buds" characters is supposed to be Rachel, Ross, Phoebe, Chandler etc. ~ Hal Erickson, Rovi
