Director Ed Gass-Donnelly highlights the inner city grey zone that exists between the haves and the have-nots in this urban drama focusing on the displacement of the lower classes by urban gentrification. In many cities, the only thing separating the junkies from the creative class is a posh, overpriced condo that sits where an abandoned building used to be. Carol (Caroline Cave) and her architect husband Harry (Noam Jenkins) are members of the latter group. Despite outward appearances, however, this struggling urban couple is consumed by their petty problems - both husband and wife slowly dying from the inside out. Lately, Harry has been feeling increasing pressure from the senior members of his firm, and he's been taking out his frustrations on his depressive spouse. One day, realizing that each lash from Harry's tongue is sending her one step closer to the grave, Carol leans over the balcony railing in a haze and immediately topples over the edge. As Carol recovers in the hospital and forms a warm connection to kindly policeman Peter (Stuart Hughes), husband Harry strikes up a conversation with neighborhood streetwalker Pretty (Kristin Booth), who scoffs at the architect's ambitious plan to improve their neighborhood. Has the search for a better way of life sent a man into a murderous rage? A seemingly respectable husband and father faces this question in this independent drama. Warner (J.R. Bourne) and Claire (Caroline Cave) are a couple in their mid-thirties who've chosen careers that offer greater emotional rewards than financial benefits, and neither seems to regret that -- Claire helps run an art gallery, while Warner is the director of a non-profit organization. Both make enough money to keep their heads above water, and they have two children they love very much. But when Warner and Claire decide to move into a new home, things begin to change -- Claire falls in love with a house that's more than they can practically afford, and they decide to buy it anyway, sending them deep in debt. While Warner is up for a raise at work, he doesn't get it, and as Claire begins to chafe at their newly strained financial status, Warner turns to his family for help, only to discover how disappointed they are with him. One day, Claire is brutally attacked with a hammer, sending her into the hospital with head trauma, and as police detectives begin investigating the crime, Warner discovers he's become the prime suspect. Claire's mother is convinced Werner is guilty, his parents don't know what to think, and Warner realizes its up to him to prove his innocence to those around him -- including Claire. Anna Friel and Aden Young star in this romantic drama set against the backdrop of World War II, and following a wide-eyed London girl who falls for a Canadian soldier. The year is 1943, and as war wages across Europe, vivacious young Lily becomes smitten with rugged Canadian Charlie. The couple soon enters into a whirlwind romance, and after Lily becomes pregnant Charlie is forced to return to the front lines. Later, Lily and her daughter travel to Canada with Charlie, eager to start a new life on his family's peaceful, countryside ranch. Upon arriving in the Great White North, however, this optimistic war bride quickly discovers that her new husband's family "ranch" is actually a decrepit old farm house further removed from the big city than she could have ever imagined.
