Visionary filmmaker Christopher Nolan (Memento, The Dark Knight) writes and directs this psychological sci-fi action film about a thief who possesses the power to enter into the dreams of others. Dom Cobb (Leonardo DiCaprio) doesn't steal things, he steals ideas. By projecting himself deep into the subconscious of his targets, he can glean information that even the best computer hackers can't get to. In the world of corporate espionage, Cobb is the ultimate weapon. But even weapons have their weakness, and when Cobb loses everything, he's forced to embark on one final mission in a desperate quest for redemption. This time, Cobb won't be harvesting an idea, but sowing one. Should he and his team of specialists succeed, they will have discovered a new frontier in the art of psychic espionage. They've planned everything to perfection, and they have all the tools to get the job done. Their mission is complicated, however, by the sudden appearance of a malevolent foe that seems to know exactly what they're up to, and precisely how to stop them. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi

Debuting over MyNetwork TV on September 5, 2006, Fashion House (working title: Secret Obsessions) was one of two nightly hour-long continuing dramas seen over the fledgling network during its first season on the air; both this series and its companion show Desire were inspired by the Spanish-language telenova genre, and both were filmed in San Diego. Fashion House unfolded the tale of two rival fashion designers: Maria Gianni (Bo Derek), beautiful but ruthless owner of Fashion House, and her hated rival, the wealthy Sophia Blakely (Morgan Fairchild), whose mission in life was to put Maria out of business via a hostile takeover. The sinister machinations of these two ladies were seen through the eyes of Michelle Miller (Natalie Martinez), a housewife who aspired to be a top designer, and who began pursuing that goal after discovering that her husband Lance (Mike Begovich) had cheated on her with his vixenish business assistant Gloria (Donna Feldman). For her part, Michelle entered into a torrid affair with Michelle's son Luke (Taylor Kinney), a would-be painter. Weaving and sometimes skulking through the proceedings were sinister dealmaker William Chandler (Joel Berti), who aligned himself with Sophia for the purpose of destroying Maria; and supermodel Nikki Clark (Nicole Pulliam), Michelle's best friend. Telecast on a Monday through Friday basis with a weekend recap, Fashion House was destined for a 13-week, 65-episode run, at which point MyNetwork would replace it with a new nightly soaper, Watch Over Me. ~ Hal Erickson, Rovi

Director Tammi Sutton's superior sequel to Craig Ross' dismal urban clown shocker Killjoy marks both an improvement over the original (on one-fifth of the budget) and the introduction of almost a completely new character, as Trent Haaga's portrayal of the titular bogeymen rises head and shoulders above that of Angel Vargas in the first film. A pair of juvenile detention officers and their streetwise charges head for the wilderness as part of an Outward Bound-type program, only to run into horror and death. Genre enthusiasts will recall the same set-up being used in Tony Randel's 1994 mutant-bug film Ticks, but it still seems fresh here due to both the subject matter and the relative paucity of horror films dealing with ethnic urban youths in the intervening years (the cast is almost exclusively African-American). After a shooting death and conflicts with the obligatory redneck (Sutton), the kids hole up in the home of an elderly voodoo practitioner (Rhonda Claerbaut), only to be menaced by Killjoy. Cult favorite Debbie Rochon co-stars in this entertaining horror film, which was extensively re-edited prior to release by executive producer J.R. Bookwalter to tighten up what he felt was a rather slow initial cut. ~ Robert Firsching, Rovi

Stephen Townsend directs Kingston High, the MTV-produced tale of a high-school comic book artist (Jeramie Gladman) whose virginity (and the journey towards losing it) is constant topic fodder amongst his group of friends. Sketch's (Gladman) friends, similar to their teen brethren in American Pie, have collaborated within themselves in order to find Sketch a suitable partner by prom night. The laid-back Sketch, however, would much prefer to spend the night smoking pot and drawing comic book art. Despite Sketch's relative oblivion, a love triangle of sorts is created when he ignores the signals from nice-girl Marcy (Chastity Dotson) and gears what enthusiasm he has outside of his art towards Trina (Nicole Pulliam), a notoriously hot fellow student. ~ Tracie Cooper, Rovi

In this gritty urban drama, a group of young people from a ghetto neighborhood where crime is a part of daily life find themselves on the wrong side of the law -- and under arrest. When their case goes before a judge, they're given one of two choices -- they can go to jail, or go back to school. Naturally, the kids pick the latter, but when they're sent to a school on the other side of town, they find themselves dealing with upper-class students and they find themselves outcasts. However, when the school sponsors a poetry contest, the street kids find that their hip-hop skills give them an advantage, as they use their talents for rapping and rhyming to create eloquent streetwise verse, and they soon find that shared creativity helps build a bridge between themselves and their classmates. ~ Mark Deming, Rovi
