Johnny Knoxville and his crew of fun-loving masochists bring their routines to the big screen in this feature adaptation of the popular but controversial MTV series Jackass. A crew of young men perform a variety of strange, painful, and often humiliating stunts for the amusement of themselves and those around them, including crawling across dozens of mousetraps while wearing rodent make-up, being rolled down bowling lanes on skateboards, racing in golf carts across an ancient driving range, giving themselves self-inflicted paper cuts, making snow cones out of urine, tightrope walking over live alligators, using uninstalled sanitary plumbing in a hardware store, terrifying Japanese pedestrians while wearing panda costumes, and much, much more. Johnny Knoxville, the show's creator and star, returns to head up this movie version of Jackass, along with series regulars Bam Margera, Ryan Dunn, Chris Pontius, Steve-O, Dave England, Jason "Wee Man" Acuna, Preston Lacy, Ehren McGhehey, and Brandon DiCamillo; Henry Rollins, Tony Hawk, and Spike Jonze are among the movie's guest stars. ~ Mark Deming, All Movie Guide

The parents of former Jackass regular Bam Margera endure a heap of hilarious humiliation during season one of the savagely satirical stunt show Viva La Bam. To get things rolling, Bam deliberately provokes the anger of his dad Phil by installing a fireman's pole in the house...in the middle of the night. And, for good measure, he transforms Casa Margera into a skate park. Next up, Bam invites the singing group Turbonegro for an in-house rock concert, while poor Phil is forced to go without food for 24 hours. Had enough? Well, Bam sure hasn't, as witnessed by the drawbridge and moat he constructs outside the house to accommodate a family reunion. Even Bam's efforts to give his parents a special wedding anniversary result in considerable pain and discomfort for Bam's dad Phil and mom April, with a Russian mail-order bride and a tacky tuxedo adding to the festivities. At least April is able to exact revenge on her darling boy -- but not before she had been hoodwinked into thinking her house has been blown up! The season finale is the infamous scavenger hunt, wherein all the Margeras, plus Bam's reprobate friends, speed around town in crummy used cars to locate such items as a "hot chick in lingerie," a bee sting, a cow's autograph, a fresh pile of road kill, and an edible worm. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide

Season two of the outrageous "all in the family" stunt show Viva La Bam begins as Bam Margera responds to complaints from his constantly humiliated parents Phil and April by finding them a new house -- but not before ruining most of the furniture and the fixtures in the old house. Next up, the heavy metal group Slayer forces their way into the Margera household, prompting Bam and his buddies to scour the city in search of easy girls as eligible dates. Then, dad Phil is made an unwilling contestant in the first "Fat Boy Face-Off," which requires him to survive the "Slobstacle Course" and a moronic game show. The two-part Mardi Gras episode finds Bam making trouble in the company of several famous skateboarders, among them Tony Hawk and Donny Barley. Arbor Day is celebrated as Bam knocks down one of the trees in his folks' backyard and establishes a treetop casino, replete with a "Battle Royale" wrestling match to sucker in the customers. And in the season finale, Bam squanders the family savings to buy four broken-down used cars and stage his own demolition derby. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide

What humiliations and outrages are awaiting the parents of zany stuntmeister Bam Margera during the third season of Viva La Bam? Well, for starters, Bam sets up yet another private skate park, this time in his parent's driveway, then decorates the park with worthless junk borrowed from the homes of celebrities like Tommy Lee and Jack Osbourne. Bam's hapless dad and mom Phil and April are in for more trouble when their son and his buddies buy a bunch of potato guns and stage a messy reenactment of the Civil War. Bam's Jackass mentor Johnny Knoxville shows up in a later episode to inaugurate a prank war in which no prisoners are taken and no feelings are spared (even Sean Penn joins in on the fun). Just when it seems that Bam is going to make up for all the damage inflicted on his parents' home and sensibilities, he reneges on his promise to put dad Phil and mom April on a cruise ship that is safely docked near dry land, but instead casts them adrift on the high seas! The season finale is an episode titled "Bamiature Golf." Draw your own conclusions. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide

Having endured a variety of humiliations and outrages at the hands of their stunt-happy son Bam Margera, Bam's parents Phil and April are inexplicably back for more during the fourth season of Viva La Bam. This year's festivities begin as Bam and his pals magnanimously escort Phil and April on a trip to Paris for their wedding anniversary -- without telling the couple that their every move is going to be followed and tape recorded. Later on, Bam tries to pay for all the damages incurred by getting a job, but there may not be much of a future in pulling a rickshaw. Even a warm-hearted hugging contest takes on sinister dimensions with good ol' Bam involved. It just can't get any worse, it can't. Oh, yes it can...and it's a guaranteed laugh riot! ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide

Professional skateboarder and incorrigible jokester Bam Margera continues humiliating his real-life family, tossing such values as taste and decorum into the dumpster, and performing dangerous stunts (NO! NO! WE TOLD YOU NOT TO TRY THESE AT HOME!) as the MTV "prank show"Viva la Bam enters its fifth season. Things get off to a rousing star as Bam and the family recall their top five favorite moments from past episodes during a chaotic camping trip. Other episodes dwell upon the prickly relationship between Bam and his uncle Don Vito (aka Vincent Margeta), who in one instance spends several days in Brazil with no idea where he really is. Fellow skater Bob Burnquist appears in that particular episode, while Billy Idol makes a surprise appearance on the occasion of mom April Margera's birthday. Elsewhere, a drag race is postponed when Bam's beloved Lamborgini "mysteriously" disappears; and Bam's pal Raab Himself (aka Chris Raab) heads to Latvia to latch up with a Russian mail-order bride. And for the benefit of those who think that Bam has it all his own way on the series, Uncle Vito exacts sweet revenge on his nephew for past humiliations--and he does it two, count 'em, two times! ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide
