Jennifer Finnigan Movies

Canadian actress Jennifer Finnigan cut her teeth on the popular soap The Bold and the Beautiful in 2000 (playing Bridget Forrester for almost four years), and starred in the made-for-TV movie The Stalking of Laurie Show the same year she started on the series. Finnigan was comfortable with the medium of TV, and she would return to it with a recurring role on the popular show Crossing Jordan, on which she played pathologist Dr. Devan Maguire. The actress followed that up with a lead role on the quirky comedy series Committed (2005), in which she played the cheerful and eccentric Marni Fliss. When that show was quickly canceled, Finnigan bounced back with the lead role on the legal drama Close to Home, playing Assistant District Attorney Annabeth Chase; the series lasted for two seasons. ~ Cammila Collar, Rovi

Though created by Jim Leonard, the weekly, hour-long CBS crime-and-punishment series Close to Home bore the distinctive stamp of executive producer Jerry Bruckheimer, whose previous procedural dramas included Cold Case and the CSI franchise. Jennifer Finnigan starred as Annabeth Chase, a hotshot prosecutor -- and new mom -- living and working in Indianapolis. Returning from pregnancy leave, Annabeth discovered that her motherhood had cost her a promotion, and that during her absence she'd acquired a new boss, Maureen Scofield (Kimberly Chase), who was now worried that Annabeth would let her hormones rule her head in legal matters. Nonetheless, our heroine was dedicated to the point of obsession with ridding her town of serial murderers and sex criminals, especially those who hid behind the veneer of "folks next door" respectability. Also in the cast were Christian Kane as Annabeth's husband, Jack, and John Carroll Lynch as her colleague Steve Sharpe. Close to Home made its network bow on October 4, 2005. ~ Hal Erickson, Rovi

Most girls would be thrilled to discover the most popular boy in school is attracted to them, but it leads to danger for one teenager in this thriller. Laurie Show (Jennifer Finnigan) is a teenager who moves with her mother Hazel (Mary-Margaret Humes) to a small town in Pennsylvania after her parents split up. Laurie finds it easy to make friends with her new classmates, but while covering the junior prom for the school's yearbook, Laurie discovers that Butch Yunkin (Rel Hunt), a popular boy who has been elected prom king, is especially fond of her. However, this seems to bring out mixed feelings in Michelle Lambert (Marnette Patterson), Butch's girlfriend, who is quite proud of her status as half of the school's most popular couple; Michelle seems to go out of her way to make friends with Laurie, but she occasionally betrays her jealousy over the fact Butch is attracted to Laurie. One night at a party, Butch begins flirting with Laurie, but after he kisses her, she actively protests his further advances; he responds by raping her. Michelle walks in as Butch is attacking Laurie, and immediately blames Laurie for seducing Butch. Michelle's version of the story soon sweeps though the school, and Laurie is widely considered a tramp who has tried to steal Butch away from the girl who loves him. Laurie's reputation is ruined, but this is hardly enough for Michelle, whose twisted obsession with destroying Laurie soon escalates into violence. Sally Jessy Raphael served as executive producer for this made-for-cable drama, which was inspired by actual events. ~ Mark Deming, Rovi
