Svelte redheaded actress Lindy Booth began life in Oakville, Ontario, Canada, in 1979, then attended secondary school at nearby Blakelock High and moved into acting immediately following graduation. Per the route of many an ingenue, early assignments seemed to pigeonhole Booth in horror or action fare, such as the 2002 outing The Skulls II (2002) and the 2004 Dawn of the Dead, though in time she graduated to deeper and more multidimensional roles. These included a prominent turn as a best friend in the family-oriented holiday telemovie Christmas in Boston (2005) and another supporting role in director Randall Miller's comically charged crime thriller Nobel Son (2007), opposite Danny DeVito, Bill Pullman, and Mary Steenburgen. A young man's moment of triumph is spoiled when he gets kidnapped before he can impress his father in this black comedy. Eli Michaelson (Alan Rickman), a well-respected scientist, has learned that he's won the Nobel Prize in chemistry, which is a mixed blessing for his friends and family; while Eli's ego is a bit strong under the best of circumstances, this affirmation of his talent and intelligence has made him insufferable. Eli's wife, Sarah (Mary Steenburgen), a talented forensic psychiatrist, is more than annoyed by Eli's fondness for extramarital affairs (and lack of concern about hiding them), while his son, Barkley (Bryan Greenberg), has spent much of his life struggling to live up to his dad's expectations, with little success. Barkley is about to receive his Ph.D, just in time for his father's prize ceremony, when he's abducted by a pair of hapless crooks. The kidnappers demand Eli's two-million-dollar Nobel honorarium in exchange for Barkley's safe return. Ever since Junior High, Gina (Marla Sokoloff) has been carrying on a pen-pal friendship with Seth (Patrick J. Adams). Now fully grown, Gina is a journalist living in Boston, while Seth is a toy-company executive. When Seth shows up in Beantown for a conference, one would think that he'd be looking forward to being interviewed by Gina, whom he's never seen--and that Gina would feel the same way. Trouble is, self-conscious Gina has for all these years been sending along pictures of her friend Ellen (Lindy Booth) in her letters to Seth, while Seth has been sending pictures of his friend Matt (Jonathan Cherry). Terrified that Seth won't like her if he finds out what she really looks like, Gina sends Ellen in her place for the interview--while Seth, suffering similar fears, prevails upon Matt to impersonate him. Given this set-up, and taking into consideration the title of this made-for-TV movie, no one should be unduly surprised by the outcome of the story! A big lie told in fun has deadly consequences in this horror story. The feature-film debut of director Zack Snyder, Dawn of the Dead is a modern retelling of George Romero's 1978 horror classic, which was actually the second film in a trilogy that began with Night of the Living Dead and concluded with Day of the Dead. Sarah Polley and Ving Rhames star as two of the last remaining people on an earth that has been ravaged by flesh-eating zombies. After escaping to a shopping mall with a handful of other survivors, they decide that they only way to truly elude the approaching throng of undead is to somehow make their way to an island that is supposedly zombie-free. A turn down an uncharted dirt road leads six young people into a night of pure terror in this horror story. Chris (Desmond Harrington) is driving through West Virginia on his way to a job interview when an auto accident slows highway traffic to a near standstill. Afraid he'll be late, Chris takes a detour down an old dirt road; a distracted Chris doesn't see an SUV stuck in the middle of the road before it's too late, and he plows into the back after his tires suddenly blow. The driver of the SUV, Jessie (Eliza Dushku), was out on a camping trip with four of her friends -- Evan (Kevin Zegers), Francine (Lindy Booth), Carly (Emmanuelle Chriqui), and Scott (Jeremy Sisto) -- when their tires went out, and as Jessie and Chris compare notes on their accidents, they discover that the road has been sabotaged with barbed wire. With both parties in need of a telephone, Evan and Francine are left to look after the cars while the other four set out to find help. However, Evan and Francine soon discover they've been led into a horrible trap, and as Chris, Jessie, and their friends search for help, they find that they've fallen victim not to local pranksters, but a gang of inbred backwoods killers with a taste for blood. Candian filmmaker Peter O'Brian directs the comedy Hollywood North, set in Toronto during the late '70s. Matthew Modine stars as Bobby Mayers, a stressed-out Canadian producer trying to make an action film called "Flight to Bogota." The production is inevitably troubled by numerous problems with the cast, crew, and finances. Alan Bates stars as crazed Hollywood actor Michael Baytes, the leading man who takes over the set. Jennifer Tilly plays Gillian Stevens, the nymphomaniac leading lady who seduces her younger co-star Frankie Candido (Fabrizio Filippo). Meanwhile, filmmaker Sandy Ryan (Deborah Kara Unger) is trying to capture the whole thing for a making-of documentary. Convinced that his employees are secretly engaging in sexual acts with the customers, untrusting full body massage parlor owner Lawrence (Richard Zeppieri) attempts to cement his suspicions by hiring new manager Conrad (Don McKeller) to investigate his employees. A seemingly placid and incompetent nice guy whose obvious tactics only serve to bond the girls together in keeping the hapless new manager in the dark, masseuses Lea (Lindy Booth), Betty (Tara Spencer-Nairn) and Cindy (Kira Clavell) execute a variety of clever tricks in foiling their boss' plan. It soon becomes obvious however, that both sides may have underestimated the tactics of their opponents. As a battle of wits between the protective Betty and the determined Conrad comes to a head, the characters all appear to have their own motivations in maintaining their position. The red-robed Skulls are at it again. The exclusive, sinister college fraternity that makes hazing seem like pillow fights inducts Ryan Sommers (Robin Dunne), who later secretly witnesses what appears to be the death of a woman at the hands of a Skull member. But of course, he can't tell on a Skull because the motto is "A Skull above all others," which is how some of these guys get to be high government leaders and megalomaniacal industrialists. Ryan's conscience bothers him anyway but once he begins investigating how to report the crime, his girlfriend, Ali (Ashley Lyn Cafagna), rejects him and seemingly everyone in a position to help him is a Skull. During the Depression segment, a mail-order bride from China meets her husband for the first time. Following the end of WWII, a soldier returns home to meet his girlfriend and his best friend. During the paranoia of the 1950s, a professor searches for his wife. During the 1980s, a lawyer has too much sex and debt, and during the dawn of the millennium, a woman comes to a newly refurbished room 720 to meet her Internet lover.
