Outwardly respectable Australian wife and mother Carmen Duncan harbors a secret past. A former German terrorist, Duncan is sought by both the authorities and her former associates. One of these, IRA assassin Michael Aitkens, insists that Duncan share some of the loot she's squirreled away. She escapes Aitken's clutches, with both the money and her 15-year-old daughter Annie Jones in tow. Thus do the two female leads become the "moving targets" of the title--though unlike other targets, Duncan has the will and the wherewithal to fight back, and fight back hard. Broaching an issue that would lead to considerable litigation and controversy over the years, first-time director Bill Bennett looks at the experience of one Australian Vietnam vet as he discovers he has leukemia and traces the probable cause to the defoliant known as Agent Orange (for the color of the containers) used by the Americans in the Vietnam war. When Col. Turner (Chris Haywood and his wife (Jennifer Cluff) and children move into a neighborhood of other veterans, they begin to notice that there is an unusual amount of sickness among the men. Then the colonel himself starts seeing rashes and bruises on his skin. He goes to a doctor and is diagnosed with leukemia. Convinced that this illness, like the others in the neighborhood, was caused by his exposure to Agent Orange, Turner begins a lawsuit to claim compensation. ~ Eleanor Mannikka, All Movie Guide

First broadcast in England on December 31, 1967, "A Change of Mind" was directed by Prisoner star Patrick McGoohan, under the pseudonym of "Joseph Serf" (the same name he'd used when directing the earlier episode "Many Happy Returns.") Still refusing to reveal his reasons for resigning from British Intelligence save for the vague explanation "I needed time to think," Number Six is declared "unmutual" by the powers that be in The Village. As such, he is subjected to the double assault of mind-bending drugs and ear-piercing sound waves. Though this treatment is meant to make Number Six more compliant, the tables are turned upon his tormentor Number Two (John Sharpe), with the unwitting assistance of Number Eighty Six (Angela Browne). Written by Roger Parkes and intended to be shown as the series' 13th episode, "A Change of Mind" was rescheduled as the 12th intallment--but not in America, where it aired in its proper chronological order on August 24, 1968. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide

Poignant and pointed, as well as funny, this love story by director Leslie Norman has a simple message: act your age. Since they were older teens, two buddies Barney (John Mills) and Roo (Ernest Borgnine) have gone to a summer rendezvous with the same two women, for fun in the sun in Sydney. They work on sugar-cane farms and after the harvest spend the summer with their women. In this 17th such summer, they arrive only to discover that Barney's girlfriend has married and Pearl (Angela Lansbury), a rather straight-laced widow, has taken her place. Roo's girlfriend Olive (Anne Baxter) does not get her annual gift of a special doll because Roo is broke -- he has had a bad year.
