Australian screenwriter and filmmaker Brad Hayward makes his directorial debut with this somewhat downbeat, gritty portrait of young adults struggling to get by in Sydney Australia. Min (Sarah Browne) is a plain-looking young woman in her early twenties who has just lost her job, her boyfriend, and her place to live. With nowhere else to go, she follows her best friend Jaz's (Astrid Grant) suggestion and moves into the home of David, a New Age intellectual who has also broken up with his girlfriend. David comforts himself by sleeping with a series of increasingly younger girls, something that bothers poor Min who gets tired of meeting a different young woman each morning. It does not help that she must also listen to Jaz's constant complaints about her boyfriend Stanley (Michael Walker) whom she claims is rather dull in bed. Later Min encounters Stanley herself and is surprised to hear him say the same things about Jaz. When Jaz learns that Stanley confided in Min, she angrily ends their friendship, leaving Min free to take up with Stanley. ~ Sandra Brennan, All Movie Guide

A father (Ralph Maraj) who has settled in Trinidad has just come back from India with Rina (Sanam Suri), a bride for his son Sham (Bhalinder). The only problem is, Sham is so hopelessly shy and/or repressed by his cultural background that he cannot bring himself to engage in any intimacy, of any kind, with his new bride. Being Indian, he is well aware that his bride may desire to have a relationship with a man and so he gives her free rein to enter into any sort of liaison she wants. Rina does fall in love with an artist (Kabir Bedi) and has a baby by him, but her father-in-law is outraged at her behavior and kills the artist. Rina herself is later put on trial for the death of another man, even though she is innocent and has actually framed by her father-in-law. As the story moves along, there are musical numbers worked into the scenes (one of the friends is a performer) that are lively and entertaining in themselves. ~ Eleanor Mannikka, All Movie Guide

In the fifth episode of the six-part story "The Time Monster," the Master (Roger Delgado) continues in his efforts to use the dreaded "time-eater" Kronos (Marc Boyle) as a means of conquering the universe. But his plan hits a snag when Queen Galleia (Ingrid Pitt), who originally helped the Master gain access to the Atlantan crystal harboring Kronos' spirit, turns on the villain. Now also at the mercy of Kronos, the Master must rely upon his archrival, the Doctor (Jon Pertwee), to stay alive. In the second episode of the four-part story "The Claws of Axos," the Doctor (Jon Pertwee) is not entirely trustful of the visitors from Axos, who have come to earth bearing a food-replenishing element called Axonite. As it turns out, the Doctor's insticts are right on target; in league with the Master (Roger Delgado), the aliens intend to strip the earth of its own nourishment -- and the dumb earthlings unwittingly cooperate every inch of the way. When Dan (Jeremy Slate) wins a motorcycle worth $2,000, he plans to sell the bike for a down payment on a ranch and settle down. After the motorcycle is stolen by Tony (Michael Walker), Tampa (Adam Roarke) takes possession of it. Dan is soon after the thugs who took the bike and who are on the way to Mexico. One by one, Dan eliminates the crooks with boulders, fists, and ropes, and he makes grisly and effective use of a pit of rattlesnakes to exact his revenge. His girl Cathy (Jocelyn Lane) shudders in terror as the men beat themselves into bloody submission in this manic macho motorcycle movie. ~ Dan Pavlides, All Movie Guide

Perry Mason (Raymond Burr) must once again put his social life on hold when he is summoned to his alma mater, Cal State. Though he'd been slated to merely pick up an award, Perry ends up defending student Van Fowler (James Noah) on a murder charge. The victim is Professor Stuart Logan (G.B. Atwarter), who after accusing his entire class of cheating on an exam was himself labelled a cheater by the hapless Fowler, who had helped to write Logan's best-selling book but received neither credit nor compensation for his efforts. A pretty strong motive indeed--but Perry is a bit too swift for both the prosecution and the real murderer. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide
