A directionless college graduate hatches a plan to save his father's failing used car dealership in this comedy starring Ben Savage and Jon Gries. Ford Davis has just graduated from college. He's twenty-four years old and still living with mom and dad. Having recently wrecked the loaner car entrusted to him by his father Big Len - the owner of a local car dealership - Ford is forced to go to work selling cars on the lot. It doesn't take long for Ford to realize that selling cars isn't easy, but thankfully his co-workers are willing to share the tricks of the trade. The CarBabes know that selling cars is all about selling yourself, and once Ford learns this little secret he's well on his way to success. After taking a sexy hairdresser on an unforgettable test drive, he's flipping cars like flap jacks and dating a beautiful new girlfriend. But trouble is afoot just across the street, because Hamper's Campers owner Ron Hamper is looking to move in on Big Len's property. When Hamper threatens to turn Big Len's business into a parking lot for his own used campers, Ford draws on the lessons learned from his father and the CarBabes to draw up a plan that could save the day. If Ford and his crew can somehow manage to move 300 cars in just one month, Davis Automotive will be able to stay in business and mean Ron Hamper will have to eat his words. ~ Jason Buchanan, All Movie Guide

Reportedly seven years in the making, the musical documentary Awake My Soul offers a glimpse into a little-known and seldom-discussed form of a capella music christened 'Sacred Harp singing' that relies on an alternate set of musical notations called shape notes. Because this Christian worship music originated in rural churches of the American south, the program travels to these venues and examines 'The Sacred Harp,' a very special hymnal built entirely around shape note singing, used and celebrated by a select few who are christened 'The Lost Tonal Tribe.' ~ Nathan Southern, All Movie Guide

A child that will steer humankind down the road to hellfire has been born, and as his evil flourishes in a world full of hate, the ominous Biblical prophecies slowly begin falling into place in director John Moore's remake of Richard Donner's 1976 horror classic. Robert (Liev Schreiber) and Katherine Thorn (Julia Stiles) were as loving parents as any young boy could ask for, but as fate would have it, their new son Damien is far from the typical child. Now, as the mysterious boy's growth begins to share frightening parallels with the Biblical passages detailing the rise of the Antichrist, and the lives of all who seek to reveal his true nature are cut gruesomely short, Robert and Katherine are forced to face the horrifying prospect that their child has been sent from Satan to hasten the fall of modern civilization, and that there is little they can do to curb his prophesied path of ultimate destruction. ~ Jason Buchanan, All Movie Guide

A television commercial for a Sega game system that aired during the 1999 MTV Music Video Awards landed debut director John Moore a gig behind the camera of this military action thriller. Owen Wilson stars as Lt. Chris Burnett, a naval aviator aboard the U.S.S. Carl Vinson who's frustrated with the strict "hands-off" political policies that prevent him from experiencing combat against hostile Bosnian forces in his F/A-18 Superhornet jet. Burnett's commander, Admiral Reigert (Gene Hackman), thinks that the brash pilot doesn't have what it takes to be in the millitary, but the eager young officer soon gets the chance to prove his mettle. While conducting a routine photographic reconnaissance over a remote area of the Balkans, Burnett captures grisly images that serve as proof of genocidal crimes, but his plane is blown out of the sky. He's soon pursued on the ground by the forces of Lokar (Olek Krupa), a Serbian paramilitary leader intent on covering up unthinkable crimes, while Reigert defies the NATO orders of his superior (Joaquim de Almeida) and risks his career to mount a covert rescue mission. Behind Enemy Lines (2001), the first of two back-to-back releases starring Wilson and Hackman (the other being The Royal Tenenbaums), also stars David Keith, Gabriel Macht, and Charles Malik Whitfield. ~ Karl Williams, All Movie Guide

Prior to his death in 1970, he collected more than 10,000 photographs and 7,000 aboriginal artifacts to help preserve an understanding of this unique culture.
