When the traditionally minded pastor of a fundamentalist Baptist church suffers a debilitating stroke, the energetic young preacher brought in as a temporary replacement draws the ire of both his ailing predecessor and the jealous deacon who seeks to sabotage the stylish but sincere clergyman's career. Reverend Robert Gibbs has a decidedly unconventional means of preaching the gospel, so when he is recruited to stand-in for the debilitated Reverend Matthews during the latter's convalescence the congregation is at first somewhat taken aback. Eventually, however, the congregation warms to their new pastor, gradually embracing his hip style of preaching. As attendance at the California-based church begins to perk up, Reverend Gibbs makes the acquaintance of a pretty local teacher named Divine who lost her faith after losing her mother to cancer. Later, as Reverend Gibbs does his best to help restore the woman's faith, he discovers that she is in fact the daughter of the disapproving Reverend Matthews. When a dysfunctional family is crammed into a cramped apartment and forced to make the best of their situation, tempers flare and tensions turn in director Carl Gilliard's heartfelt family drama. A family doesn't have a healthy foundation without a strong parental figure, but deadbeat dad Joe certainly doesn't fit that bill. A manipulative druggie who seems more interested in getting stoned than raising a family, Joes' put upon girlfriend Taco is fighting a failing battle to raise her daughter Simone in a stable environment. When Joe's estranged son Andre decides to move in, a revolving door is opened that finds a series of questionable visitors dropping in for a visit. Though Andre may have collegiate aspirations, living in a crumbling building run by an opportunistic owner may prove too much of a distraction to bear. A man has a month to decide if his girlfriend is the love of his life in this romantic comedy. Kwame Gatmon (Brian Hooks) is a young man with a promising career as a musician and a beautiful girlfriend, Yasmine (Shani Bayete). But Yasmine is tired of watching her girlfriends get married while she watches on the sidelines, and one day she gives Kwame an ultimatum -- either he marries her in 30 days, or she'll never see him again. Kwame isn't sure what to do; while he loves Yasmine, he also likes his freedom, and paying a visit to his buddies who've tied the knot hardly makes marriage look like an attractive proposition. That "Q," as in "BBQ," as a young man throwing the cookout to end all cookouts finds his party is skidding off the rails in this comedy. Cedrick (Brian Hooks) is a young man minding the family home while his folks are away. Mom and dad have promised Cedrick a new Jeep if he keeps the house in order and minds his behavior, but Cedrick figures one backyard party couldn't hurt. However, Cedrick quickly discovers his barbecue is attracting not only his good friends and some pretty girls, but every lunatic from blocks around, several of whom seem intent of making a mess of everything. ~ Mark Deming, Rovi

Two almost-identical bank robberies have resulted in two deaths--and Hunter (Fred Dryer) and McCall (Stepfanie Kramer) have nary a clue. Gradually, Hunter deduces that there had been an "inside" man at each bank.
