The seventh in a series of Olympic films specially produced for the Showtime cable network by the multifaceted Bud Greenspan, this two-hour special focuses upon the 2002 Winter Games at Salt Lake City, UT. As is his custom, Greenspan puts a human face upon the competition by offering in-depth profiles of such participants as Croatian alpine skier Janica Kostelic and Italian cross-country skier Stefania Belmondo. Wayne Gretzky, or "The Great One," is widely considered to be the best professional hockey player of all time. In addition to holding 61 NHL records, Gretzky won nine MVP awards and four Stanley Cups during his years as a player for the Edmonton Oilers and the Los Angeles Kings. This video retrospective examines Gretzky's huge influence on the game itself, as well as on the young superstars ("The Next Ones") in the game today. In addition to clips of exciting goals, passes, and overall teamwork, Gretzky himself offers commentary on the game and analyses of the players emerging to contend for the role of the NHL's best.

In this sequel to the kid-friendly sports comedy The Mighty Ducks, Gordon Bombay (Emilio Estevez) takes one more shot at a career as a professional hockey player, but a severe knee injury sidelines him for good. However, his success coaching a rag-tag pee-wee hockey team in Minneapolis (as chronicled in the first film) has attracted the attention of a major sportswear firm, which hires him to coach the United States team for the Junior Goodwill Games. Gordon reassembles most of the Mighty Ducks along with several new players, including a huge bully who is great on defense (if low on social skills), a figure skater who knows how to move on the ice, and a hotshot goalie who happens to be a girl. However, the excitement of a trip to Los Angeles and a large dose of overconfidence puts the team at a severe disadvantage when they're pitted against the top-ranked Icelandic team.
