Picking up where season two left off, the third season of Blakes 7 was launched with the episode titled "Aftermath." With the intergalactic war coming to an end, the crew of the Liberator -- minus the titular Blake and crew member Jenna (actors Gareth Thomas and Sally Knyvette had left the series) -- evacuates the ship via individual space pods. Avon (Paul Darrow) lands on the planet Sarran, along with his hated adversary, Federation President Servalan (Jacqueline Pearce). The two enemies are rescued from a hostile tribe by a pair of fellow fugitives, Hal Mellanby (Cy Grant) and his daughter, Dayna (Josette Simon in her first series appearance). Servalan returns the favor by killing Mellanby, whereupon Dayna casts her lot with the surviving Liberator crewpersons. "Aftermath" first aired on January 7, 1980. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide

In the third and last in the original Shaft (1971) series of action-packed "blaxploitation" pictures, private eye John Shaft (Richard Roundtree) travels to the "motherland," where he breaks up a modern slavery ring. Shaft is hired by a diplomat, Emir Ramila (Cy Grant), to infiltrate the criminal empire of the evil Vincent Amafi (Frank Finlay), who is kidnapping poor Africans and shipping them to Europe as slave laborers. Amafi murdered Ramila's son when he attempted to expose the illegal operation, and Ramila, now aware that his investigation of Amafi has been compromised, needs an unfamiliar to face to help bring the ring leader down. After undergoing some training at the hands of a comely tutor so that he'll be able to pass muster as an African, Shaft travels to Ethiopia and allows himself to be shanghaied by Amafi's men. However, the high-ranking Wassa (Debebe Eshetu) is the traitor in Ramila's ranks, and he has betrayed Shaft. As the tough private eye attempts to free the slaves being held captive in a former Nazi prison below a French chateau and bed any beautiful women who crosses his path, he must also dodge a series of assassination attempts by Ramila's men. ~ Karl Williams, All Movie Guide

In this melodramatic adventure set after the British evacuated Singapore in 1942, a ship is torpedoed and only four people survive. They are a nun, an RAF officer, a godless bigoted business magnate, and a black purser. The four drift for days before getting themselves washed up on a small desert island. Before they reach the shore, a shark consumes the purser. The other three safely land and struggle to survive. Time passes and the RAF officer falls in love with the nun, who never tells him that she is one. Later they are rescued, and the officer begins looking for her in vain.
