This first in a planned series of films devoted to telling the tale of the Mormon faith in America, The Book of Mormon charts the recorded history of Nephi (Noah Danby) as he leads his people from Jerusalem to the "Promised Land" of the Americas. Along the way, Nephi must contend with his infuriating brothers Laman (Mark Gollaher) and Lemuel (Cragan Foulger), battle the elements, and protect his family from the wilds as he carries out God's mission for him. In this dramatic murder mystery from the director of God's Army, Richard Dutcher -- who is also this film's writer, producer, and star -- plays Wes Clayton, a young deputy sheriff who resides in a quiet Mormon community called Brigham. The town is turned upside down when a woman from California is found murdered near her car. Wes, with the aid of his young deputy (Matthew A. Brown), the town's retired sheriff (Wilford Brimley), and an idealistic secretary (Carrie Morgan), is sent to investigate the bizarre occurrence. A federal agent (Tayva Patch) also becomes involved, and Wes slowly finds himself becoming the spiritual leader of this typically sleepy small town. He must unveil some of its underlying secrets to solve the murder, while also trying to keep the peace of the Mormon community surrounding him. Richard Dutcher writes, produces, directs, and stars in this fish-out-of-water religious drama about Mormons pounding the streets of Hollywood, looking to save a couple of souls. A small town elder journeys to the big city and joins a missionary group led by the gruff Marcus Dalton (Dutcher). Together, they go door-to-door trying to convert people to their faith, Mormonism. Just when he's about to hang up his necktie and starched white shirt, he learns of the hardships that the others have endured -- Marcus has cancer, Banks, an African-American Mormon, was disowned by his family, and others have been harassed by nefarious anti-Mormon intellectuals. Based on the novel, How I Created My Perfect Prom Date, by Todd Strasser, Drive Me Crazy stars Melissa Joan Hart as Nicole, a trend-conscious teenager living next door to Chase (Adrian Grenier), a self-conscious, downbeat type who reads poetry and spouts political platitudes. Needless to say, Nicole and Chase have nothing in common and little to say to each other. But when the boy of Nicole's dreams asks someone else to the prom, she decides to remake Chase into worthy date material as a way to make her old flame jealous. Before long, Nicole and Chase aren't just pretending that they like each other.
