A girl puts her ability to keep a confidence to work, though she soon learns it's a tougher job than she imagined in this comedy drama for young people. Emily (Evan Rachel Wood) is a 14-year-old girl who loves music and is studying the violin. She has a real gift as a violinist, and has passed up the opportunity to go to summer camp with her friends to study with her tutor, Pauline (Vivica A. Fox), who believes Emily has a chance of landing a spot in the community symphony orchestra. Emily also has an unusual business on the side -- for 50 cents, she'll hear and keep other kids' secrets, and offer advice on how to keep incriminating facts away from parents, teachers, or other authority figures. However, she also has a secret of her own -- a new family has moved into the neighborhood, and while Philip (Michael Angarano), a year or two younger than Emily, quickly takes a liking to her, she immediately develops a crush on his older brother, David (David Gallagher). However, David has a habit of getting into trouble, and soon Emily is keeping some secrets she's prefer to get off her chest. ~ Mark Deming, Rovi

In this dramatic murder mystery from the director of God's Army, Richard Dutcher -- who is also this film's writer, producer, and star -- plays Wes Clayton, a young deputy sheriff who resides in a quiet Mormon community called Brigham. The town is turned upside down when a woman from California is found murdered near her car. Wes, with the aid of his young deputy (Matthew A. Brown), the town's retired sheriff (Wilford Brimley), and an idealistic secretary (Carrie Morgan), is sent to investigate the bizarre occurrence. A federal agent (Tayva Patch) also becomes involved, and Wes slowly finds himself becoming the spiritual leader of this typically sleepy small town. He must unveil some of its underlying secrets to solve the murder, while also trying to keep the peace of the Mormon community surrounding him. This feature, like God's Army, was independently produced by Dutcher with the aid of Mormon supporters. ~ Jason Clark, Rovi

Robert Loggia guest stars as 102-year-old movie director Chandler Crowne, a specialist in dark, pessimistic films. Though due for a final rendezvous with Angel of Death Andrew (John Dye), Chandler will not be able to die in peace unless he takes care of some unfinished business in his distant past. At the same time, Chandler is being hounded by hero-worshipping film student Stevie Noonan (Noelle Parker), who demands to know why the director switched from making optimistic comedy films to turning out defeatist dramas. The inevitable flashback whisks us to Hollywood's Golden Era, as the young Crowne puts the finishing touches on his classic film "Redemption"--in which Monica (Roma Downey) is appearing as the ingenue! ~ Hal Erickson, Rovi

Three preteen boys find themselves playing cat-and-mouse with a group of gangsters in this lightweight thriller for the family. It's a hot summer day, and three kids (Nick Whitaker, James Laub, and Robbi Merrill) are having fun at a hotel swimming pool when they hear the ring of a cellular phone. No one is picking it up, so one of the boys decides to answer it. The voice on the other end says he's a guest at the hotel who left his phone by the pool, and he'll give the boy five dollars to bring it to his room. The boy arrives at the room and before he can knock on the door, he hears a gunshot from inside the suite and runs away. The boy and his pals soon discover that there's an incriminating message stored inside the cell phone's voice mail system, and that a number of ne'er-do-wells will stop at anything to get it. The boys then set out to crack the code while trying to stay one step ahead of the bad guys. ~ Mark Deming, Rovi
