The first in a series of "true crime" cable-TV films based on the writings of Dominick Dunne, Murder in Greenwich retraces the brutal bludgeoning murder of Martha Moxley, a Greenwich, Connecticut high school girl, in 1975. Although the prime suspect is Martha's teenaged neighbor Michael Skakel (Jon Foster), the boy is able to evade arrest for a variety of reasons, not least of which is the fact that he is related to the politically "untouchable" Kennedy family. Over two decades later, the case is re-opened at the urging of former police detectitve Mark Fuhrman (Christopher Meloni), whose recent association with the O.J. Simpson trial has branded him a racist pariah. Despite his tarnished reputation, Fuhrman is able to enlist the aid of another detective, Steve Carroll (Robert Forster), the original investigator of the Moxley murder. Although Fuhrman and Carroll are clearly never going to be the best of friends, their combined efforts ultimately bring the elusive (and now adult) Michael Skakel to justice. Not surprisingly, the real Mark Fuhrman was one of the producers of Murder in Greenwich, which made its USA Network debut on November 15, 2002. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide

Combining live action and "animatronics," the Australian TV children's sitcom Horace and Tina starred Jasmine Ellis as Lauren Parker, a 13-year-old Canadian girl who was uprooted and relocated Down Under when her mother remarried. Saddled with a distant stepfather and an obnoxious stepbrother, Lauren's existence was enlivened somewhat by the arrival on Christmas Eve of two "Nelfs," or Santa's Helpers: three-foot-tall, 200-year-old Horace (voiced by Frank Gallacher) and his 271-year-old sister Tina (voiced by Jackie Kelleher). Stranded in Australia until Santa's next stopover, Horace kept busy by making mischief, while Tina dispensed advice and homilies -- and of course, only Lauren could see or hear the Nelfs. Debuting May 4, 2001, Horace and Tina had yielded 26 episodes by the following year. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide

In this thriller from Australia, Paul Morris (Paul Moder) is a man leading a double life; on the surface, he appears to be a good-natured suburban husband and father. But Paul earns his living as a hired killer, and while he's fussy about who he'll murder and why, he and his partner (Kevin Hopkins) have few qualms about their line of work. Paul decided as a child that he wanted to become a hit man, when he happened to see noted mob enforcer The Snake (Frank Bren) perform an execution. Now a female police officer (Carolyn Bock) is blackmailing Paul into becoming her sex slave, while playing Paul and The Snake against each other after discovering they've both been hired to kill the same man. Sensitive New-Age Killer is the third feature from Aussie crime-drama specialist Mark Savage, and the first to be shot on film. ~ Mark Deming, All Movie Guide

This thoughtful Australian sci-fi film was shot on location on a spectacular dry salt lake at Woomera, where the Australian military used to test its rockets. The story is set in an environmentally ravaged, desolate future. For the first time in 40 years the warring New Territories and the Federal Republics have reached a tentative peace thanks to the secret machinations of the Central Union, a powerful group comprised of industrialists from both sides. As part of the deal, Central Union is allowed to monopolize all communications. Anne, the pregnant wife of New Territories army training officer Leo Megaw, works for CU as one of their leading security coders. To prove her prowess, she one day decides to prove to her skeptical boss that she can crack his supposedly uncrackable security code. In so doing she learns that an outer security zone has suffered a terrible accident resulting deadly contamination. Not long after her discovery, Anne "accidentally" dies under suspicious circumstances. Leo is devastated and nearly succeeds in killing himself. Eventually, he masters his grief enough to allow his pal Seton, a CU worker, to send him to isolated Zone 39 to man a lonely outpost to guard the border. He is ordered to shoot anyone moving into the zone and to carefully monitor the activities of the Federal Republics guard Pagett. It is an unpleasant duty and Leo's predecessor killed himself. People do wander into the zone, and all of them are "classified," and contaminated by something. When not on duty, Leo takes small comfort in a drug that allows him to converse with his wife. ~ Sandra Brennan, All Movie Guide
