This animated fantasy is based on a famed fairy tale by late-19th century writer George MacDonald. It is the tale of a brave princess who teams up with the son of a miner to go underground and stop the mischievous goblins from revolting. The film spent many years in production, which explains the vocal presence of Roy Kinnear (who died in September 1988). ~ Sandra Brennan, Rovi

A lonely orphan girl makes a most unusual friend as best-selling children's author Roald Dahl's timeless story comes to life in an animated effort that was nominated for Best Children's Program by the Academy of Film and Television. A twenty-five foot prince who harvests the dreams of Dream Country and blows them into the minds of children with his magical trumpet, the Big Friendly Giant is troubled to learn that some of the less friendly giants of the land have left many English boys and girls unable to rest soundly in their beds at night. Now determined to put a stop to the frightening activities of the gargantuan grumps, the Big Friendly Giant joins forces with young orphan Sophie to seek out the aid of Her Majesty the Queen and deliver the most spectacular dreams imaginable to the children who now sleep safely nestled away from the threat of the towering monsters who had once filled their hearts with fear and dread. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi

Are You Being Served? was a popular British TV sitcom all about the balmy employees of a department store clothing section. This 1977 feature-film version of Are You Being Served? finds screenwriters Jeremy Lloyd and David Croft not content with leaving the regulars in their natural cloak-and-suit habitat, so they send most of the cast on holiday to a fictional resort. ~ Hal Erickson, Rovi

Midget performer Jimmy Clitheroe, one of Britain's most beloved entertainers, rose to fame with his characterization of a mischievous schoolboy. Among Clitheroe's many radio, TV, and stage vehicles was "The Clitheroe Kid," first heard on the BBC home service in 1959. Inevitably, the property made the transition to television, beginning November 29, 1964. Retitled Just Jimmy, the 45-episode series featured the 4'2" Clitheroe's perennial cohorts, Mollie Sugden (as Jimmy's mum) and Danny Ross (as Cousin Danny). Just Jimmy remained on the air until 1968; Jimmy Clitheroe himself lived until 1973. ~ Hal Erickson, Rovi
