Greluchon Delicat (Sensitive Lad) is the story of a starry-eyed Parisian student named Henri, played by Paul Bernard. Henri falls hard for the beautiful Simone (Alice Cocea), but she is the "property" of middle-aged Michel (Harry Baur). Though Simone comes to love Henri, she is averse to giving up the pampered lifestyle of a courtesan. It's up to Michel to do the right thing at the right time -- after all, he's rather fond of his feckless young rival as well. So "civilized" that it borders on the genteel, Greluchon Delicat offers a picture-postcard Paree which never really existed, but probably should have. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide

The virtuous Nicole (Alice Cocea) is the wife of wealthy composer Lucien (Andre Roanne). Through an error made by a dressmaker, Nicole discovers that Lucien is leading a double life, keeping the sexy Chichette (Paulette Duvernet) as his mistress. In retaliation, Nicole kicks up her heels and begins fooling around with a reckless gigolo (Enrique de Rivero). When our heroine's hedonistic new lifestyle threatens the well-being of her son, a contrite Lucien returns home and promises never to stray again. Comedy relief is provided by Robert Goupil as Lucien's neurotic lyricist. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide

Director Henri Roussel adapted the screenplay of Atout Coeur (Hearts are Trumps) from a play by Felix Gandera. The troubles begin for heroine Arlette (Alice Cocea) when she is forced into a marriage with a self-styled nobleman. In truth, Arlette's new husband is a common burglar who has stolen the real nobleman's identification papers. Thanks to the intervention of a resourceful cousin, Arlette meets and falls in love with the actual nobleman, to whom, under the eyes of the law, she has been married all along. The intricacies of the storyline are presented in an attractive, intelligent fashion by Roussel and his talented cast. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide

Marions-Nous (Let's Get Married) is based on The Wedding Night, a play by Avery Hopwood. Film star Gisele Landry (Alice Cocea) and her current lover Francis Latour (Fernand Gravey) check in at a Balkan hotel and sign what they think is the hotel register. Instead, the couple discovers that they've just become husband and wife. Making things even more complicated is the fact that Francis is impersonating another man, a famous -- and married--composer. Never letting up its pace for a single moment, Marions-Nous is a wonderfully wacky, door-slamming boudoir farce. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide

Mon Gosse de Pere (My Childish Father) was based on a stage play by Leopold Lemarchand. The title character, played by Adolphe Menjou, is a lazy roue, recently married to a gorgeous young girl. Menjou's illegitimate son, now the blue-nosed owner of a prosperous soap factory, shows up to instill a bit of responsibility into the old man. But Menjou refuses to be "tamed" into respectability and heads out for a night on the town. Imagine his anger and jealousy when he sees his young bride flirting with his own son. Before this mess is finally cleared up, Menjou has learned to take life a bit more seriously, while his son has discovered that it isn't so bad to enjoy oneself once in a while. Mon Gosse de Pere was released in the U.S. as The Parisian. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide
