Add The Brandon Teena Story to Queue Add The Brandon Teena Story to top of Queue
This documentary covers the story of a Nebraska triple homicide, beginning with the Lincoln, Nebraska birth of Teena Brandon, a woman who later made a change of both name and sex. In December 1993, Brandon left Lincoln for Falls City, began dating a woman, passed a bad check, and was booked under 'his' real name. When locals learned of his true nature, they were so outraged that they beat and raped him on Christmas Eve. After Brandon filed a complaint, he was found dead on New Year's Eve, along with two other victims. Reconstructing the events (with a few short reenactments), filmmakers Susan Muska and Greta Olafsdottier interviewed Brandon's family and friends and the two convicted killers (who each accused the other), intercutting TV news coverage. Shown at the 1998 Berlin Film Festival. ~ Bhob Stewart, Rovi

Among those performing some of Monroe's best-loved songs in The Legend Lives On: A Tribute to Bill Monroe are Marty Stuart, the Whites, Charlie Daniels, and Ralph Stanley & the Clinch Mountain Boys. ~ Matthew Tobey, Rovi
