Arriving in New Zealand for their honeymoon, volcano expert Janet Fraser (Lynda Carter) and her new husband, Kevin (Parker Stevenson), must overcome the resentment of Janet's daughter Melanie (Emily Barclay). But this domestic tribulation pales in comparison to the greater danger posed by a long-dormant volcano known as "Mount Extreme." By the film's midpoint, Janet, Kevin, and Melanie are among those trapped when the volcano suddenly erupts. Terror Peak first aired over the PAX Network on February 7, 2003. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide

Inspired by the real-life rescue of several miners from a collapsed tunnel in North Carolina, this made-for-TV drama stars Mimi Rogers as Pat Bogen, superintendent of the Greymount Mine. Long concerned over safety issues at the mine, Pat finds that her worries are confirmed when a cave-in occurs, trapping seven workers. Among those entombed are Pat's own husband Chief (Ted Shackelford) and their son Rabbit (Ben Castles). With the oxygen supply running out -- and water surging into the mine's tunnel -- Pat feverishly oversees the Herculean rescue efforts, battling every inch of the way with the "instinct over technology" policies of the mine's former superintendent, her own father Cappy (Bruce Allpress). Cave In debuted May 2, 2003, on the PAX network. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide

Not dissimilar to such earlier Hollywood features as Boys' Ranch and Johnny Holiday, this made-for-cable drama stars Bruce Boxleitner as ex-cop and former marine J.T. Hope. The owner of a 2,000-acre ranch in Utah, Hope makes it his mission in life to rehabilitate youngsters who, as a result of their criminal records, have been deemed incorrigible. In this instance, Hope focuses his attention on a trio of street punks, including incipient drug-dealer Keith Frazier (Brian Gross). With the help of his no-nonsense ranchhands Colt (Lorenzo Lamas) and Shorty (Barry Corbin), Hope works the boys hard and long (12 hours a day, in fact), tending the horses, cleaning out the barns, and tackling other such grueling chores -- all the while promising the kids that if after two weeks they have straightened themselves out, they will not have to return to the penal system. At first reacting in horror to the strict regimen of Hope's ranch (one of the teens declares, "What is this? An episode of Survivor?"), two of the boys begin showing signs of redemption, and even begin to enjoy their working vacation in the great outdoors. Alas, Keith proves to be a bigger challenge than Hope had anticipated, especially when the boy steals some horse tranquilizers and escapes into the mountains. One of the first films to be produced exclusively for the Animal Planet cable network, Hope Ranch debuted on September 2, 2002. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide

Ryan and his friends Stu (Anton Tennet) and Twinkie (Michael Purvis) are tired of being told what to do; they have to do their homework, eat their vegetables, wear a coat when they go outside, wear a helmet when they ride their skateboards, and aren't allowed to come and go as they please like their older brothers and sisters. One day, Ryan and his pals find an ancient Native American burial ground, where they discover a magical wishing glass. Using the glass, Ryan wishes that all the grow-ups and teenagers in the world would simply disappear -- and suddenly, his wish comes true! In its centuries-long role as the premiere empire in the world, Britain had a long history of putting political expediency over what most would consider to be the demands of common humanity. In this wartime drama, the Wellington Regiment, composed entirely of empire subjects from New Zealand, is being used in suicide missions (along with other colonial regiments) during World War I in order to spare the lives of British soldiers. The battle this story focuses on takes place on a hill in Turkey named Chunuk Bair. ~ Clarke Fountain, All Movie Guide
