- Add Dave Attell's Insomniac Tour Uncensored! to QueueAdd Dave Attell's Insomniac Tour Uncensored! to top of Queue
Something of a modern-day Lenny Bruce, the hardcore comedian Dave Attell first became notorious for his blue standup act, which not only landed him frequent guest spots on Comedy Central's The Daily Show with Jon Stewart but brought him his own series on that network, Insomniac with Dave Attell. A candid reality show, with Attell touring various late-night locales in a variety of cities and ad-libbing on-camera, Insomniac explores the odd ways in which footloose urbanites while away the better part of their sleeping hours, and functions as a reckless travelogue of night-owl America. The home release Dave Attell's Insomniac Tour Presents Sean Rouse, Greg Giraldo and Dane Cook carries Attell back to his standup comedy roots. Per its title, the 98-minute program features extended standup acts from Attell, Rouse, Giraldo, and Cook, delivering comedy at their raunchy, uncensored best. It's edgy X-rated humor, in the tradition of Bruce, Pryor, and Carlin, overloaded with guffaws and belly laughs. ~ Nathan Southern, All Movie Guide
Pepsi Smash (sponsored by guess which soft drink company) was the WB network's effort to bring back the good old-fashioned variety series format. Boasting a different celebrity host per week (Amanda Bynes showed up in the opener), the series featured live, uncut performances from such top musical attractions as Foo Fighters, Ashanti, and Beyoncé Knowles. Additionally, the program offered a weekly countdown of the best and most popular tunes. Pepsi Smash debuted July 16, 2003. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide

Selections include "A Home," "Landslide," "White Trash Wedding," "Wide Open Spaces," "Goodbye Earl," and "Sin Wagon." ~ Mark Deming, All Movie Guide

Bruce Springsteen, Billy Joel, Sheryl Crow, George Clooney, Julia Roberts, Tom Petty, Al Pacino, and many more entertainment industry luminaries teamed up on September 21, 2001, for this live telethon raising funds for the families of the victims of the September 11th terrorist attacks. The focus of America: A Tribute to Heroes were 21 musical performances, interspersed with speeches and personal histories commemorating the lives lost at the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and in Pennsylvania some ten days prior. Simulcast commercial-free on almost 40 networks, the event garnered more than 200 million dollars in support before being released to home video in December of 2001. ~ Michael Hastings, All Movie Guide
Comic actor Ben Stiller co-wrote, directed, and stars in this spoof of the fashion industry that began as a short skit for the 1996 VH1 Fashion Awards. Stiller is Derek Zoolander, an intellectually challenged but bone structure-blessed male model who's despondent after being eclipsed in popularity by an equally vacuous rival, Hansel (Owen Wilson). Upon his reluctant retirement, Derek is invited to a day spa by previously standoffish fashion designer Jacobim Mugatu (Will Ferrell), where the befuddled model is brainwashed by the mysterious Katinka (Milla Jovovich) into assassinating the prime minister of Malaysia. In addition to Stiller's real-life wife Christine Taylor, Zoolander co-stars his father Jerry Stiller, along with Jon Voight, David Duchovny, Andy Dick, and Fabio. ~ Karl Williams, All Movie Guide

Former MTV executive Joel Gallen makes his feature directorial debut with this broad spoof of the popular teen comedy genre, lampooning dozens of movies including American Pie (1999), American Beauty (1999), Bring It On (2000), Clueless (1995), She's All That (1999), Road Trip (2000), Can't Hardly Wait (1998), 10 Things I Hate About You (1999), Never Been Kissed (1999), and even the teen films of an earlier era such as The Breakfast Club (1985). At the aptly titled "John Hughes High School," aspiring artist Janey Briggs (Chyler Leigh) is an outcast because of her plain, bespectacled looks and paint-splattered overalls. Football hero Jake Wyler (Chris Evans) makes a bet that he can transform Janey into a gorgeous prom queen, a wager he may come to regret as he discovers Janey's true inner beauty. As their relationship blossoms, several other characters are limned, including a Nasty Cheerleader (Jaime Pressly), a Token Black Guy (Deon Richmond), a Stupid Fat Guy (Ron Lester), an Obsessed Best Friend (Eric Jungmann), an Undercover Reporter (Beverly Polcyn), the Cruelest Girl in School (Mia Kirshner), a Cocky Blonde Guy (Eric Christian Olsen), and several others. A nod to the multiple films that inspired it, Not Another Teen Movie (2001) was originally to have been entitled "Ten Things I Hate About Clueless Road Trips When I Can't Hardly Wait to Be Kissed." ~ Karl Williams, All Movie Guide

- Chyler Leigh, Chris Evans, (more)

In 1970, Carlos Santana and his group were riding their first crest of fame with their trademark bland of rock, jazz, and Latin sounds when they recorded a set for German television, which has been given a belated home video release. Best of Musikladen Live: Santana features twenty-two minutes of music, and includes the songs "Black Magic Woman," "Jungle Strut," "Incident at Neshabur," and "Gin Go La Ba (Drums of Passion)." ~ Mark Deming, All Movie Guide
