From the folks who brought you The Bachelor, the six-episode reality series High School Reunion gathered together 17 graduates from the Oak Park and River Forest (Illinois) High School class of 1992. The alumni were chosen primarily because they fit the producers' predetermined stereotypes: the class president, the cheerleader, the prom queen, the loner, the flirt, the B.M.O.C., the nerd, the bully, and even "the bitchy girl." Transported to the island of Maui, the graduates were afforded the opportunity to mend old fences and/or open old wounds, while on each episode two participants were given a "hall pass," allowing them to ask one of the others on a date. In 1967, John Michael Osbourne, a laborer from Birmingham, England, teamed up with his friend Terence Butler to form a rock group called Rare Breed. The band didn't last long, but a couple years later the two joined forces with Tony Iommi and Bill Ward and launched a new act that would come to be known as Black Sabbath. Taking the stage name Ozzy Osbourne, the group's lead singer became an international icon of hard rock, and after leaving the band in 1979, he went on to a wildly successful solo career. Osbourne also became known for such offstage antics as snorting ants, biting the heads off birds and urinating on the Alamo, and he spent most of his years in the limelight deeply addicted to alcohol and drugs, even as he became a reality TV star with the debut of The Osbournes in 2002. Filmmakers Mike Fleiss and Mike Piscitelli give Ozzy a chance to speak for himself in the documentary God Bless Ozzy Osbourne, in which the heavy metal pioneer discusses his life, career, family and struggle with addiction; the film also includes interviews with fans and friends Paul McCartney, Tommy Lee, Henry Rollins, John Frusciante, Robert Trujillo and many more. Three American students studying art in Rome are drawn into a grim world of torture and suffering in director Eli Roth's blackly comic sequel to the horror hit that shocked the world. Cabin Fever director Eli Roth skips the humor of his freshman feature and goes straight for the jugular in this unrelenting scare-fest about a pair of libidinous American backpackers seeking cheap thrills in the European countryside. Their carefree college days close behind and the responsibility of the real world looming ever closer on the horizon, Josh (Derek Richardson) and Paxton (Jay Hernandez) strap on their backpacks and prepare for a stratospheric last hurrah of booze, babes, drugs, and debauchery halfway across the globe. It's during a visit to Amsterdam that the pair meets up with raucous Icelandic backpacker Oli (Eythor Gudjonsson), and after the three globe-trotting thrill seekers catch wind of a Slovakian city whose male population has dwindled as a result of civil strife -- leaving the ladies ready and willing to accept any male companionship that might turn up at the local hostel -- the trio quickly beats a hasty retreat to the out-of-the-way oasis. Upon check-in, the trio is greeted by a bevy of beautiful locals and is quickly convinced that the hedonistic hideaway is indeed the real deal. Mike Fleiss, the producer of such reality television shows as The Bachelor and The Bachelorette, makes his feature film debut with The Quest, a reality-film that follows seven Colorado college students as they travel south of the border to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, for a week of spring-break debauchery. The title refers to the various sexual conquests of the young men as they immerse themselves in alcohol and bikini-clad women for seven days. The Quest was originally planned to go head-to-head with New Line's The Real Cancun, another spring-break reality-film, but Universal opted to withhold it from release for more than a year. ~ Matthew Tobey, Rovi
One of the most infamous horror films of the 1970s is revisited in this remake produced by action-spectacle maven Michael Bay. In the summer of 1973, four teenagers -- Erin (Jessica Biel), Morgan (Jonathan Tucker), Kemper (Eric Balfour), and Andy (Mike Vogel) -- are driving through Texas on a road trip when they pick up a hitchhiker, Pepper (Erica Leerhsen), who is on her way to Mexico to score some dope. With Pepper adding to the party atmosphere, the other four decide to join her, but as they're passing through a small town in Travis County, they see a bloody and distraught girl (Lauren German) wandering by the side of the road, and after stopping to help her, they realize she's been involved in something horribly traumatic. As the kids try to help the girl piece together the story of what happened, they find themselves drawn into the web of a murderous family of subnormal cannibals. Inspired -- like the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Psycho, The Silence of the Lambs, and Deranged -- by the crimes of Wisconsin multiple murderer Ed Gein, this remake of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre also features narration by John Larroquette, who narrated the original film (it was his first screen credit), as well as supporting performances by R. Vacationing college students fight a shiver of sharks after traveling to an island getaway and being surrounded by the ferocious man-eaters in this sun-soaked shocker from director David R.
