When a young boy who is about to enter middle school makes a wish that summer will never end, he receives the unique opportunity to live the last day of summer until he finally determines exactly the kind of person he wants to become. It's the last day of summer, and Luke, A.J., and Riley are all about to experience their first day of middle school. As the young trio prepares for the debut of their band Steel Monkey at the local town fair, Luke's older sister makes a comment that leaves her sibling more nervous than ever before at the prospect of entering the next phase of his education. Three young, mischievous boys get more than they bargained for in this 2000 film directed by Eric Hendershot. Brad's sister Becky gets hired to babysit by star NBA basketball player Mosiah "The Messiah" Jackson (Reggie Theus), who happens to live nearby. Brad and his two friends decide to play a prank on Becky by leaving a ransom note and taking the baby, which they hide in one of the cars in the professional athlete's garage. After the infant unexpectedly (to the boys, at least) "makes a mess," the boys quickly decide to end the prank, leaving the baby in the car as they go back into the house to let Becky in on the joke. But a desperate and not so bright car thief named Jack (Joe Piscopo) breaks in and steals the car, along with the baby. Jack -- who was actually blackmailed into stealing the hoopster's vintage Rolls Royce by a pair of mafia goons -- has a change of heart after discovering that not only did he steal the wrong car but he inadvertently kidnapped the star's infant. While he decides what to do with the baby, the two goons learn of the kidnapping and decide to find Jack, take the baby from him, and put a ransom on the infant. A troubled cop makes a discovery that really has him worried in this thriller. Mickey Hayden (Kiefer Sutherland), a police detective, is ordered to take a new look at a case he'd worked on ten years ago. A brilliant but demented serial killer known as Jabberwocky went on a killing spree before dropping out of sight; Hayden was never able to track him down, and the disappointment has left Hayden with more than his share of emotional scars; the detective has since become an alcoholic in a failed attempt to cope. After a decade of silence, Jabberwocky strikes again, sending the police a note suggesting Hayden be put back on his case. But this time around, Hayden notices something different as he investigates the killings; when he comes in contact with the evidence, he has troubling psychic visions that tell him more about the murders than he ever wanted to know. A young boy named Ray (Miko Hughes) and his grandfather (James Karen) have one important thing in common -- they both love airplanes, and Gramps often joins Ray as he flies his model planes in the park. But Ray's parents think that Gramps has grown too old to care for himself -- and that it's time to put him in a nursing home. But Gramps doesn't want to go; Ray isn't sure if he can do anything to stop them, but he does think that he might be able to arrange for the one-time pilot to take an old prop plane back into the air one last time.
