Buxom blonde supermodel Anna Nicole Smith, known more for her lucrative marriage to an octogenarian millionaire than for her professional career, opted to cash in on the popularity of MTV's The Osbournes by headlining her own weekly cable series, based on her "real life." The cameras followed Anna Nicole as she embarked on such "typical" pursuits as house-hunting, applying for a driver's license, and seeking out eligible bachelors who will like her for "herself" rather than her vast fortune or tabloid-fueled notoriety. Going along for the ride (and, one presumes, the joke) were Smith's 16-year-old son Daniel Smith, her personal assistant Kim Walther, her attorney Howard K. Stern, and her pet poodle Sugar Pie (who apparently subsisted on a diet of Prozac). Though written off by most critics as "a train wreck," The Anna Nicole Show posted record-breaking ratings for the E! Entertainment cable network when the series premiered on August 4, 2002. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide
