A ten year old boy decides that if being a little angel can't save his parent's crumbling marriage he should perhaps try the opposite approach in darkly comic family drama from director David Richards (Alibi). Young Ollie may have only been walking this earth for a decade, but he's smart enough to realize that his folks are heading for divorce. Try as they might to shield their son from the ugly truth, mom and dad can't cover up the fact that their relationship is failing and they're about to go their separate ways. Ollie hopes that by being a good little boy he can somehow keep his parents together, but as hard as the well-meaning youngster tries he always seems to screw up. When the simmering tensions between Ollie's parents erupt into a violent boil, the frustrated boy decides that the only way to restore the peace is to become a household hellion the likes of which mom and dad have never seen. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi

When the scientists of Chemacran create a remarkable new drug and begin to anticipate a takeover by a large U.S. pharmaceutical company, ethics are tested as potential for profit soars. Thankfully journalists Terry Corcoran (Finbar Lynch) and Maureen Bloand (Orla Brady) are more than willing to blow the lid off the story as big-business suits and powerful politicians make a desperate bid to cover up a series of deaths that have been attributed to the revolutionary drug. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi

The weekly TV dramedy series Teachers has been described as the British equivalent to America's Ally McBeal, even though the central character was male rather than female. Adrian Bower starred as Simon, a 27-year-old teacher in a typical British comprehensive (or high) school. Studiously avoiding conflicts or heavy lifting, Simon was always able to unload his personal and professional problems on his understanding fellow teachers Kurt (Navin Chowdhry) and Susan (Raquel Cassidy). Conversely, Simon's policewoman girlfriend Jenny (Nina Sosanya) was anything but understanding, demanding that he make a commitment concerning their relationship. As a result, Simon frequently retreated into a fantasy world, in which Jenny was invariably cast as a "super-villain." More popular with the average viewer than it was with real-life school instructors, Teachers debuted March 21, 2001 on Britain's Channel 4. ~ Hal Erickson, Rovi

Ordinary Decent Criminal is a classic gangster movie in modern-day Ireland. It follows the extraordinary adventures of a Robin Hood character, Michael Lynch, a thief, bigamist, liar, and criminal genius who robs from the rich to give to the poor. Michael is suave, sardonic, and sexy. When his leather-clad figure weaves its way through the Dublin traffic on a powerful motorbike, people stare in awe. He loves his two wives (who happen to be sisters), his wild kids, his gang, and, most of all, his way of life. He has two fundamental beliefs: be loyal to your own and the hell with the establishment. As his ego gets bigger and bigger, he enjoys his notoriety more than the cash it brings. Determined to break him, the police increases its harassment of the whole gang, as Michael makes a mistake that could threaten his good name with the public and his reliability as a bread-winner. But he recovers his equilibrium in time to dream up a final grand scheme to survive the trap set for him. The story is reminiscent of John Boorman's The General about a similar real-life character, Martin Cahill, also a Robin Hood married to two sisters. The impressive cast includes Kevin Spacey, Linda Fiorentino, and Peter Mullan, the tragic hero of My Name is Joe. ~ Gönül Dönmez-Colin, Rovi

An Irish boy obsessed with sports finds his life changing dramatically once he adds a little Salsa to his life in Mad About Mambo. Danny (William Ash) plays on the football team (called soccer in America) at the all-boys Catholic school he attends in Belfast. Danny's three best friends, who also play on the team, all have different ambitions for their lives. Mickey (Paul McLean) wants to be a fashion designer so he can get rich and date supermodels. Gary (Russell Smith) wants to become a magician so he can get rich and meet beautiful women (and presumably saw them in half). And Spike (Joe Rea) likes to beat people up, so he wants to become a mercenary and do it for a living. But Danny dreams of making soccer his life. The players Danny most admires are South Americans, such as Pele and Carlos Riga, who he feels have a special rhythm and flexibility. Wanting to add some of these qualities to his own game, Danny gets a brainstorm: he'll take mambo lessons, in the hope that dancing like a South American will help him play like a South American. To the surprise of himself and his friends, Danny turns out to be a pretty good Latin dancer and finds himself smitten with a pretty American student in his dance class, Lucy (Keri Russell). However, Lucy happens to have a boyfriend, who is a fierce competitor on one of Danny's rival teams. Executive producer Gabriel Byrne appears in a supporting role. ~ Mark Deming, Rovi
