In Season 4 (2007-8), Stargate: SG-1 star Amanda Tapping crosses over as the new leader, joining the Atlantis cast as television's favorite astrophysicist, Commander Samantha Carter. Also returning is Jewel Staite, reprising her role of Dr. Keller, a physician who joins the Atlantis expedition. The fourth season also continues to chronicle the voyage of the Atlantis team: Lt. Col. John Sheppard (Joe Flanigan), Teyla Emmagan (Rachel Luttrell), Dr. Rodney McKay (David Hewlett), Ronon Dex (Jason Momoa), and Col. Steven Caldwell (Mitch Pileggi). The Season 4 set of this hit SciFi Channel series includes 20 episodes on five discs, and features cast and crew commentaries, deleted scenes, photo galleries, the first Atlantis blooper reel, and more.

Literally "torn from today's headlines," this made-for-cable drama recounts the sordid story of Max Factor heir Andrew Luster (here played by Jason Gedrick), who, over a period of several years, used the "date-rape" drug GHB to render several impressionable young woman unconscious, at which point he raped them while a video camera recorded his assaults. Galvanized by Luster's first victim, herein identified only as Connie Doe (Marla Sokoloff), two other girls who had been drugged and ravished by the wealthy predator joined Connie in bringing about legal action against him. Although the girls were forced to relive their horrendous experiences during testimony, their combined efforts so moved the jury that Luster was convicted on 86 criminal charges and sentenced to 124 years in prison. At the time this film went into production, the real-life Luster was fugitive from justice; escaping from house arrest and skipping off to parts unknown, he was tried and convicted in absentia. In June of 2003, one week before filming on A Date With Darkness wrapped, Luster was recaptured in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, by bounty hunter Duane "Dog" Chapman (played in the film by an uncredited stunt man). This necessitated a hasty rewrite of the film's final scenes and an equally hasty refilming (as evidenced by the patently false beard on the face of actor Jason Gedrick). In its final form, A Date With Darkness: The Trial and Capture of Andrew Luster debuted August 11, 2003, on the Lifetime Network; the telecast was followed by an impassioned warning against the dangers of GHB, delivered by the film's co-star, Marla Sokoloff. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide

A man who courts danger for a living finds a new kind of excitement in this made-for-TV drama. Reese, a Hollywood stuntman whose career has taken a dive, decides to travel to New Zealand to visit his sister, who runs a boarding house popular with local followers of extreme sports, such as rock climbing and bungee jumping. Reese discovers that New Zealand is the hub of the international extreme sports community, and Reese is drawn into the world of the young thrill seekers as they flirt with death by day and look for less dangerous thrills at night. The happiness and heartbreaks of first-time parenting are lavishly visualized in this TV adaptation of Danielle Steel's novel Mixed Blessings. The teleplay by Virginia L. Browne and Rebecca Soladay evenly divides its time among three newly married couples, each one seriously contemplating parenthood. Though Brad Coleman (James Naughton) has a touchy relationship with his grown daughter from a previous marriage, his younger bride Pilar (Bess Armstrong) wants to experience motherhood firsthand. The relationship between Andy and Diana Douglas (Bruce Greenwood, Gabrielle Carteris) is imperiled when Diana has trouble conceiving. And while Charlie Winwood (Scott Baio) wants a baby in his life, his spouse Beth (Alexandra Paul) is not so easily persuaded. Add to this mixture a heavy dollop of "outside" emotional baggage and a few picture-book happy endings, and you have a typical (and typically well-received) Danielle Steel soufflé.
