Kyle Schmid Movies
With looks that suggested magazine-cover finesse and massive heartthrob potential, blue-eyed and square-jawed Canadian actor Kyle Schmid did indeed begin his career as a much-sought-after print model. He then made the short leap into filmed work, first with commercial advertisements, then with fictional narratives. Born August 24, 1984, in Mississauga, Ontario, Schmid first reached audiences during his teenage years, with appearances in such productions as the direct-to-video family drama Alley Cats Strike! (2000) and What Girls Learn (2001). After a small role as Scott in the Vin Diesel family comedy The Pacifier, and a bit part in the female buddy film The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants that same year, Schmid received fourth billing (his highest up through that time) as Max, in the quirky, gender-bending teen sex comedy Zerophilia. Schmid achieved much higher billing and broader exposure, however, when he scored one of the central roles in the sci-fi horror series Blood Ties, which premiered in 2007. In that program, Schmid played Henry Fitzroy, a 450-year-old vampire who strikes up a romance with a sexy female private eye. ~ Nathan Southern, All Movie GuideIn this family drama, a group of kids who like vintage styles in clothing and music find themselves shunned by their classmates. Produced for cable's Lifetime network, this overwrought cautionary drama could be described as "Reefer Madness" for the PC generation. Healthy, clean-cut 16 year old Justin Peterson (Jeremy Peterson) all but destroys himself and his family via his hopeless addiction to Intenet porn. In the tradition of those old WW2 venereal-disease movies, Justin's obsession even ruins his athletic prowess (he was a champion swimmer before his descent into hell began). And of course, whereas he previously adopted a "hands off" attitude towards his virginal girlfriend Amy (Lyndsy Fonseca), poor Jeremy has been twisted and warped into a junior sex maniac--all because of those lustful images dancing across his monitor. This is the sort of film in which everyone but the hero is "computer illiterate", and thus incapable of figuring out how to block his access to porn until it is almost Too Late. Curiously, it is established early on that Justin's kid brother (Jake Scott) loves violent video games like "Grand Theft Auto", over which no one raises any objections! Entertaining enough if one is in the right frame of mind, Cyber Seduction: His Secret Life debuted June 20, 2005. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide
A crew of documentary filmmakers exploring an abandoned prison which was shut down in the wake of a deadly riot discovers that sometimes the horrors of the past have a way of bleeding into the present. It was years ago when the inmates at Isla del Roca penitentiary rose up against the guards in a brutal display of violent rebellion, and now the condemned building sets as a silent reminder of archaic brutality. Upon learning of Ilsa del Roca's dark history, a group of ambitious documentary filmmakers determine that the penitentiary would make an ideal subject for the film that could serve as their calling card to greatness. Their plans for the film are quickly sidetracked, however, when the crew discovers that a band of desperate fugitives have taken up residence in the vast complex. While the criminals who currently call the prison home may be dangerous, the victims of the notorious riots who still haunt the cold concrete corridors of Ilsa del Roca are not only terrifying, but downright deadly. Jake Busey, Stacey Keach, and Danny Trejo star in a gore-drenched shocker from Slayer director Kevin VanHook. ~ Jason Buchanan, All Movie Guide
