As indicated by its title, this half-hour Fox sitcom was set in Chicago. Fresh out of college, series protagonist Sam (Bret Harrison) had matriculated to the position of "corporate drone", as the youngest executive at a major airline. Though hard-working and ambitious, Sam was still a frat boy at heart, the first of his college friends to land a "real" job. At the workplace, Sam was at the mercy of his clueless, overbearing boss Russ (Philip Baker Hall) and his superior Meryl (Mimi Rogers), who persisted in dropping "subtle" hints that she was sexually available to our hero, any time, any place; there was also Sam's assistant Darcy (Joy Osmanski), an MIT graduate who felt that her job was beneath her and made no secret of the fact. On the domestic front, Sam lived with his slacker older brother Sully (Eric Christian Olsen) and Sully's bartender girlfriend Lizzy (Sarah Mason). He also carried a torch for the beauteous Piper (Amanda Loncar), who unfortunately was carrying on a long-distance romance with her never-seen boyfriend. Two guys used to drinking beer for fun suddenly become fierce competitors in a sort of Lager Olympics in this over-the-top comedy. Todd Wolfhouse (Erik Stolhanske) and his brother Jan (Paul Soter) are from a German-American family but have never visited the Old Country until their grandfather dies and they fly to Germany to scatter his ashes. Todd and Jan arrive during the annual Oktoberfest celebration and accidentally discover a secret competition, "Beerfest," in which the world's leading beer guzzlers determine who can handle the most brew during several days of heated drinking games. Todd and Jan are no slouches when it comes to downing suds and offer to compete, but the German branch of the family, the Von Wolfhausens, scoff at their desire to enter the contest and inform them no mere American could hope to carry away the Beerfest honors. Determined to prove Yanks can swill beer and embarrass themselves just as well as anyone, Todd and Jan bring their most skilled drinking buddies to Germany to defend America's honor on the field of drunken battle and show their German relatives that the family's talent didn't vanish when they crossed the pond. A weekend of fun turns into a violent spree in this independent thriller. A group of four friends head into the California desert for a two-day rave being held at a remote location. A night of music, dancing and hallucinogens turns sour when one of the party, Josh (Eric Christian Olsen), is laid low by some bad drugs and the foursome crosses paths with a gang of thugs led by Dom (Dash Mihok). Dom and his buddies make short work of the ravers, leaving one dead and another seriously injured, and skinny Dan (Rider Strong) is no match for the hoodlums. Josh, however, is made of stronger stuff and isn't about to go home without giving Dom and his cohorts a taste of their own medicine. A thin thread of electronic data may be the only thing that can save a women and her family in this thriller. Jessica Martin (Kim Basinger) is a biology teacher who is kidnapped by Ethan (Jason Statham), a vicious criminal who has threatened to murder her husband and son if he doesn't get what he wants. Ethan destroys the only working telephone in the cabin where she's held, but Jessica manages to put enough of the pieces together to send out a call that's picked up by Ryan (Chris Evans), a college student, on his cellular phone. Jessica manages to convince Ryan of the gravity of her situation, but she has no idea of where she's being held, leaving his cell phone as the only link to her whereabouts -- and his batteries are starting to wear out. Director Troy Miller follows up the little-seen Mr. Show movie Run Ronnie Run! with this prequel to Dumb and Dumber, the 1994 box-office smash that starred Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels and launched the careers of writer/directors Peter Farrelly and Bobby Farrelly. For the follow-up, we're taken back to 1986 when Lloyd Christmas (Eric Christian Olsen) and Harry Dunne (Derek Richardson) first met while in high school. Dissatisfied with their being stuck in remedial classes, the dense duo sets out to prove that they can attend classes with their peers of normal intelligence. Along the way, they encounter a greedy principal played by Eugene Levy and a friendly janitor played by Luis Guzman who takes Lloyd under his wing. Football hero Jake Wyler (Chris Evans) makes a bet that he can transform Janey into a gorgeous prom queen, a wager he may come to regret as he discovers Janey's true inner beauty.
