Walt Disney Studios and production house Yash Raj Films partnered up for this unusual family-oriented co-production, which works a traditional Indian story into a Western animated framework. Romeo (Saif Ali Khan) is a pup who has it all -- from wealthy masters, to a luxurious car to ride around in, to lots of appealing female dogs with whom he can party. But Romeo hits the skids when his owners promptly decide to move, and cruelly leave him behind, dropping him on the streets of Mumbai. Left to fend for himself, Romeo encounters a wealth of situations he's never known before, including a pack of four strays who terrify him and a tough, mobster-like dog named Charlie Anna (Javed Jaffrey) who patrols the neighborhood. Fortunately, fate has a few happy surprises in store for Romeo, including the love of the ravishing Laila (Kareena Kapoor) and newfound friendships with the initially intimidating strays. ~ Nathan Southern, All Movie Guide

A couple navigates the ups and downs of romance and imminent parenthood while setting up house in a new land in this Bollywood romantic comedy. Nikhil Arora (Saif Ali Khan), known to most of his friends as Nick, is a successful chef who has become something of a celebrity, with a following in Australia. Nick agrees to appear on a radio show hosted by Ambar Malhotra (Preity Zinta), an attractive woman who is finishing up her college degree, but working out the arrangements proves difficult, and by the time they meet face to face, Nick and Ambar have already exchanged a number of harsh words. When the two actually walk into the studio together, they feel a strong mutual attraction, but given their history, neither is sure if they should trust their feelings. After several dates, Nick makes a proposal -- he is going to Melbourne for a year, and if Ambar wants to join him, they can see if they could get along living under the same roof. Ambar agrees, but before long she has some surprising news for Nick -- she's pregnant with his baby, a prospect that does not make him happy. As the two face the reality of their situation as parents-to-be, Nick wonders if he's ready to give up the bachelor's life he's long enjoyed, and Ambar struggles to adjust to life down under. ~ Mark Deming, All Movie Guide

Between a documentary about animals and pure Indiana Jones, Hanuman is a children's film that lavishly narrates the tale of Hanuman, the legendary monkey king of India whose father is the wind and the mother a monkey. Hanuman is the most lovable baby monkey one can imagine. He meets Tom who comes to visit the temple in the Valley of Monkeys and tries to protect it from the robbers. A warm relationship develops between the two. The strongest points of this film are the magical landscape of India reminiscent of Rudyard Kipling books and the acting, particularly by Robert Cavanah who stays day and night with little Hanou. Recommend to children of all ages. ~ Gönül Dönmez-Colin, All Movie Guide

Nik is a nice Muslim boy who is lured to Canada from India by his uncle to serve as an attendant and keeper for a reclusive and crotchety old Jewish man. Trouble starts when Nik becomes just a little too good at his job, and the old man begins to enjoy his cross-cultural relationship with a sprightly and adventurous younger man. Neither the old man's family, nor Nik's family likes the situation, considering it (at best) unseemly: they get Nik fired and make it impossible for the two friends to communicate, with tragic results. ~ Clarke Fountain, All Movie Guide
