Adult cinema's lustiest ladies reveal it all as the hottest segments from the legendary late-night cable show Midnight Blue offer a series of intimate encounters with Debbie Does Dallas star Bambi Woods, masturbation guru Annie Sprinkle, The Devil in Miss Jones star Georgina Spelvin, and many more stars from the era affectionately referred to as the "Golden Age of Porn." Watch snow-white innocence take a swift blow as former Ivory Soap girl Marilyn Chambers ponders the prevalence of sex in showbiz before proving without a doubt that she is definitely not a racist, and after notorious bad girl Veri Knotti performs "the most shocking act in adult film" before a live audience at New York's Melody Burlesque, the smoldering Seka discusses the benefits and drawbacks of working with porn legend John Holmes. Additional commercials for the New York swingers clubs of yesteryear, adult theaters, and shady spas take viewers back to an uninhibited time when sex was in style and porno chic ignited the box office. ~ Jason Buchanan, All Movie Guide

Processed in old-fashioned 3-strip Technicolor (director Richard Haines had to take the film stock all the way to China where one of the few remaining Technicolor labs can be found) and featuring plenty of inside jokes for film buffs, Space Avenger pays gory tribute to 1950s B-movies. Though primarily a sci-fi films, the plot draws from a variety of the era's popular low-budget genres including violent gangster films and exploitation outings. The story centers on a pair of alien fugitives who crash land on Earth after escaping from an intergalactic prison. Resembling big slimy iguanas, they disguise themselves by leaping into the bodies of human teenagers so they can head off to search for the materials needed to fix their ship. Quickly discovered that Americans in the 1930s lack the technology they need, so the vile creatures return to their ship to hibernate until human technology advances. Fifty years pass. Construction workers are digging a basement for a new building when they inadvertently unearth the spacecraft. The aliens are not terribly pleased and so embark upon a terrible killing spree. ~ Sandra Brennan, All Movie Guide

This low-budget psychological drama finds a pregnant woman slowly losing her mind after she is attacked by an intruder. Two scenes are "borrowed" from Dial M For Murder and Roman Polanski's Repulsion, but director Chuck Vincent manages to add his own touches of black humor to this routine feature. Nudity and violence make this a R rated film. ~ Dan Pavlides, All Movie Guide
- Starring:
- Jane Hamilton, Paul Siederman, (more)
This soft-core T&A comedy concerns an attempt by Russian spies to rob a sperm bank for the frozen seed of Albert Einstein and Thomas Edison. Porn director Chuck Vincent (Roommates) peppers his cast with blue-movie stars like Jane Hamilton (aka "Veronica Hart"), Jamie Gillis, Jennifer Delora, and Annie Sprinkle, but fails to generate any heat, the peculiar but altogether typical result of attempting to turn what are basically stunt persons into actors. Vincent retired from hardcore in the mid-'80s and turned out a number of numbing soft-core entries such as this one under his Platinum Pictures banner before succumbing to AIDS ~ Robert Firsching, All Movie Guide
- Starring:
- Jeanne Marie, Alan Fisler, (more)
A divorced dad and son attempt to build on their newly resurrected relationship by heading back to pop's hometown in up-state Maine. When he gets there, he finds that all the townspeople have turned into 300-year-old vampires. Some say that director Larry Cohen intended the vampire community to be a parody of old-blooded Republicans who so often rule in small-town America. ~ All Movie Guide

- Michael Moriarty, Andrew Duggan, (more)

George's girlfriend Jeanne (Jeanne Marie) leaves when she feels neglected. An aspiring flight attendant learns "the friendly skies" is more than an advertising slogan in this adults-only escapade. Kathy (Tara Aire) is a college student who has grown tired of her studies and is interested in becoming a airline stewardess, much like her sister Julie (Judith Anderson). Julie, who is hoping to rise through the ranks and become her airline's first female pilot, is eager to help her sister and gets her a job on her route. However, Kathy soon discovers that both the passengers and her fellow crew members are a randy bunch, and she is soon joining in for all manner of sexual exploits, both in the air and during layovers. Coffee, Tea or Me? also features Jamie Gillis, Erica Boyer, Janey Robbins, and Paul Thomas. ~ Mark Deming, All Movie Guide
Deke DaSilva (Sylvester Stallone) and Matthew Fox (Billy Dee Williams) are New York police officers specially assigned to a special multi-national team dedicated to tracking down terrorist Wulfgar (Rutger Hauer). Wulfgar planted a bomb in a London department store, killing several children and he is now an outcast, hunted by both the police and his fellow gang members. He has extensive plastic surgery and resumes his activities aided by Shakka (Persis Khambutta), a completely psychotic fellow outcast. Soon DaSilva and Wulfgar are engaged in a violent battle of wits as Wulfgar resumes his terrorist activities and threatens New York . This very effective thriller features a chilling performance by Rutger Hauer as the handsome, ruthless cold-blooded killer who charms women into helping him and then kills them. Sylvester Stallone gives an unusually understated emotionally vulnerable performance as a man trying to save lives while he saves his own marriage. The film makes excellent use of New York locales, particularly during a terrifying hijacking of a cable car where Wulfgar coolly decides which of the hostages will live or die. ~ Linda Rasmussen, All Movie Guide

This low-budget, much-released horror film first saw the light as Gamma 693 in 1979, was resuscitated as Night of the Wehrmacht Zombies in 1981, and rose again in 1983 as Night of the Zombies. Although the film has titles that spring from a long tradition, its story is about some U.S. and German soldier "zombies" who were wounded in World War II but had their lives extended with the top-secret gas Gamma 693 -- so technically, the soldiers are not zombies at all. There are only two catches to the soldiers' existence: they must dine on human flesh in order to keep on living (making them ghouls), and they are still fighting World War II. Talky and static, but with outrageously silly dialogue and a send-up of films on global intrigue, Night of the Zombies was the last film made by director Joel M. Reed. For the trivia buffs, the word "zombie" comes from the Bantu language of Angola ("n-zumbi," meaning ghost or departed spirit), zombies debuted in 1929 in The Magic Island by William B. Seabrook, and the 1932 classic White Zombie established the genre in film. ~ Eleanor Mannikka, All Movie Guide

Part of a late-'70s revival of interest in horror and particularly the character of Dracula, this soft-core horror comedy was directed by Philip Marshak, featured a bevy of porn stars, and was released the same year as the somewhat similar but far more successful vampire spoof Love at First Bite. The legendary vampire Count Dracula (Jamie Gillis) preys on shapely women by night, but he's got a problem: he can only consume the blood of virgins. With the help of his fly-consuming, sniveling assistant Renfield, the count attempts to seduce the comely Mina (Annette Haven) over to the side of the undead, but first he must avoid the intrepid Professor Van Helsing and his wooden stakes. Hewing somewhat faithfully to the original novel by Bram Stoker, Dracula Sucks was the second nudity-heavy adult film of the same name and featured generous amounts of skin and sexual situations, as well as porn favorites Seka and John Holmes in supporting roles. ~ Karl Williams, All Movie Guide

In this sci-fi sexploitation film, a spaceship appears in near-earth space with the intent of conquering the earth. It comes from another universe and runs on sexual energy. In order to power the invasion, much less the ship, they must make sex slaves of a percentage of the population and then trigger a worldwide orgy. ~ Clarke Fountain, All Movie Guide

Abigail Leslie is Back in Town was the brainchild of prolific (200-plus titles!) sexploitation director Joe Sarno. In the tradition of Durrenmatt's The Visit, a young woman is driven from a small town in disgrace after a messy extramarital affair. When she returns, she goes the "Harper Valley PTA" route, proving that her tormentors are no better than she. Joe Sarno insists that it's based on a true story. Originally the title was Abagail Leslie is Back in Town, indicating that someone in the publicity department needed a spell-checker. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide
