The gang sets up a poker game in hopes of winning Drew's job back. Instead, the pregnant Mimi (Kathy Kinney) ends up winning the presidency of Buzz Beer--and contrary to expectation, she proves to be up to the challenge. But when a substantial amount of money disappears from the Buzz account, everyone suspects Mimi of dipping into the till, then planting the blame on Drew (Drew Carey). Meanwhile, Steve (John Carroll Lynch) shows his empathy for Mimi's delicate condition by wearing a bulky "pregnancy suit"--and coercing Oswald (Diedrich Bader) and Lewis (Ryan Stiles) into doing the same. This is the episode in which a surly Kate (Christa Miller) is wheeled onto the set wrapped in a Silence of the Lambs straitjacket! ~ Hal Erickson, Rovi

Can a would-be artist find happiness with a woman who has never heard of Jackson Pollock? That's the dilemma facing Alex (Mark Ruffalo), whose life is finally going just the way he'd like; he's scored a one-man show at an upscale gallery, and is sharing an apartment with a beautiful model named Yvette (Anne-Marie Johnson). A few days later, however, Alex's life is in tatters; the curator of the gallery informs him his work is soulless and cancels his show, while Yvette hands Alex his walking papers. With no money and nowhere to go, Alex takes a job at a pizza place and finds an flat in a squalid building where the super, Ray (Alan Gelfant), has a habit of walking in unannounced at any time of the day or night. Along with a colorful group of neighbors, including a desperate middle-aged woman who can do wonders with Spam and a hooker with a remarkable collection of "work clothes," Alex meets Lori (Beth Ulrich), a sweet-natured woman who has just moved to L.A. from Colorado. At first they seem to hit it off, but Alex thinks Lori lacks big-city sophistication, and she knows nothing about modern art. Alex breaks up with her, but it doesn't take long for him to realize he's made a mistake -- or for his neighbors to start reminding him of that. Life/Drawing marked the directorial debut of Dan Bootzin, who co-wrote the screenplay with his producer and spouse, Elizabeth Rivera Bootzin; the film was warmly received in its premier engagement at the 1999 Taos Film Festival, then aired on U.S. cable in 2003, retitled Apartment 12. It premiered on DVD in 2006 under the same title. ~ Mark Deming, Rovi

In this sequel to 1996's The Dentist, Corbin Bernsen returns as Dr. Feinstone, the obsessive-compulsive dentist whose wife's infidelities left him a deranged monster. Picking up on the IRS audit subplot of the original film, The Dentist II tracks Feinstone after his escape from a mental institution to Paradise, a sleepy little town where he's been socking away his assets and leading a double life under an assumed name. Pretending to have retired from his big-city dental practice, "Dr. Caine" rents a house from the lovely Jamie Devers (Jillian McWirther), but soon finds himself drawn back into the exam room after the local dentist's working habits don't pass muster. Killing the old guy for incorrectly gluing one of his own capped teeth, Feinstone/Caine sets up shop himself, starts dating Jamie, and soon grows homicidally jealous over her friendship with another man. As the killing continues, Feinstone remains unaware that a detective is on his trail. Soon, a toothless, tongueless woman from the dentist's past shows up in Paradise, interrupting his killing spree. In addition to the original The Dentist, Brian Yuzna previously directed such horror films as Return of the Living Dead 3 and Bride of the Re-Animator. ~ Brian J. Dillard, Rovi
