With an impossibly cool demeanor and a starkly handsome visage, U.K. actor Robson Green embarked on a formidable dramatic career in his early twenties. He subsequently became a sensation in his native Britain, with a marked emphasis on television roles, and amassed well over 200 appearances within 20 years.Green launched his entertainment career on a low-key basis, as one of the presenters in the 1984 employment documentary Who Needs a Union? This marked the actor's last nonfiction work for some time, however, and in successive years, he became a veritable staple on such English fiction series as Casualty, Soldier Soldier, Reckless, and Touching Evil. In 2002, Green gained additional notoriety as Liam Marple -- a dirt-digging tabloid journalist who sets out to expose skeletons in the closets of female prime minister Laura Bowden (Caroline Goodall), but ultimately falls in love with her, in the popular British telemovie Me & Mrs. Jones. Green continued his explorations of domestic discord with the visceral one-hour dramatic feature Beaten (2005) and the same year's shocking miniseries Like Father, Like Son. When three London hospital patients are administered a drug which none were prescribed and subsequently die, it's up to Organized Serial Crime Unit detective inspectors Dave Creegan (Robson Green) and Susan Taylor (Nicola Walker) to crack the case and ensure that the guilty party pays for his or her crimes in this installment of the popular police detective series Touching Evil. In addition to discovering that all three victims had a bare patch of skin on which the words "Let me go" were written, detectives Creegan and Taylor are troubled to find that each had also been treated by noted euthanasia proponent Dr. Elizabeth Walker (Kika Markham). Deeply shaken as a result of his own near-death experience after being shot in the head, Detective Creegan launches an intense investigation into the murders that reveals all three victims had previously been declared clinically dead before being resuscitated and brought back from the "other side." Though its title is lifted from the popular 1970s song, the British drama Me & Mrs. Jones is eminently up-to-date in its tone and content. Posing as a political fundraiser, Liam gains entrance into Number 10 Downing, where he promptly wins the confidence of the idealistic PM.
