Monk (Tony Shalhoub) is reunited with his former father-in-law Dwight Ellison (Bob Gunton), the producer of the popular TV game show "Treasure Chest." Convinced that the game's current champion Val Birch (Larry Brandenberg) is cheating, Ellison asks Monk to investigate. The solution to the mystery rests in the fact that "Treasure Chest" host Roddy Lankman (John Michael Higgins) has recently murdered his personal assistant--but Monk will only be able to crack the case if he becomes a contestant himself. This episode introduces Jarrad Paul as Monk's obnoxious upstairs neighbor Kevin Dorfman, and, in a flashback sequence, Melora Hardin as Monk's late wife Trudy (a role previously essayed by Stella Rusich). ~ Hal Erickson, Rovi

What better subject for a screen comedy than the life and times of confessed Unabomber Theodore "Ted" Kaczynsky? This documentary parody traces Kaczynsky's life from his traumatic childhood and socially inept college days to his retreat from academia into factory work and eventual exile into the woods, concluding with his famous reign of terror, mailing bombs to perceived powermongers of the academic/industrial complex (boy, it sure SOUNDS funny so far). Ted is dotted with staged "interviews" from Kaczynsky's family and acquaintences (including Edie McClurg as his mother and Kaitlin Hopkins as the closest thing Ted had to a girlfriend) and recreations of important events in his life (such as the night Kaczynsky was invited to a campus pot party). ~ Mark Deming, Rovi

This low-budget comedy is filled with quirks, but few real laughs as it tells the tale of a strange pair of couples who get strangely involved. Sal is an aspiring screenwriter while his wife Sally wants to be a rapper (even though she has no sense of rhythm). They have a platonic marriage and some hints are given that they could be brother and sister. One night they are hanging out in their home when they discover that another couple, Venison and his sister Puree have been spying upon them. Venison is an angst-ridden aspiring screenwriter who has written over 40 scripts but refuses to have any of them produced until after he has died as he considers posthumous fame the only fame worth. Generous Sally offers to read them all. If she deems them good, Sal and Puree will make Venison's wish come true. Unfortunately, the latter two do not count on Sally's falling in love with Venison. Meanwhile Puree and Sal also ignite a romantic flame. ~ Sandra Brennan, Rovi
