When a nefarious villain named Ultron emerges to threaten mankind, the next generation of superheroes leaps into action and prepares to make their famous parents proud. It's been decades since Ultron defeated the original Avengers, and these days even the few folks that had held out hope for the future are finally ready to admit defeat. But Tony Stark has a surprise up his sleeve in the form of four amazing teenagers who just might have the power to defeat Ultron once and for all. But will James (son of Captain America and Black Widow), Pym (son of Wasp and Giant Man), Torunn (daughter of Thor) and Azari (son of the Black Panther) truly be capable of defeating the villain who brought about the downfall of their powerful parents? As the battle gets underway and Hawkeye's sharp-shooting son leaps into the fray, the team realizes that they might stand a fighting chance if they can only track down the mission Hulk and encourage him to become a member of the team. Should they succeed in defeating Ultron, this group will forever be known as The Next Avengers. ~ Jason Buchanan, All Movie Guide

A spin-off of the popular Superman franchise, the half-hour animated series Krypto the Superdog spotlighted the superpowered canine who had been the pet of the younger Superman (aka Kal-El) on the planet Krypton. Sent to Earth as a test-pilot puppy, Krypto (who in this version looked more like a white Scooby-Doo!) landed in Metropolis, where he was adopted by 9-year-old human youngster Kevin Whitney. Although he posed as an "ordinary" mutt, Krypto soon linked up with several other pets with powers and abilities far beyond those of ordinary animals, among them Batman's pet dog Ace the Bathound, and Streaky, the cat owned by Kevin's next-door neighbor Andrea. Also protecting Metropolis were the members of the Dog Star Patrol, headed by Brainy Barker; this aggregation consisted of super-dogs from other galaxies, such as Mammoth Mutt and Tusky Husky. The series' villains included the alien Mechanikat as well as several "domestic" animal antagonists, owned by the traditional opponents of both Superman and Batman: Catwoman's Siamese cat Isis, Lex Luthor's pet iguana Ignatius, The Joker's red hyenas Bud and Lou, etc. Played more for laughs than any previous Superman derivation, Krypto the Superdog joined the Cartoon Network schedule on April 4, 2005. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide

Former Beverly Hills 90210 costars Jason Priestleyand Emma Caulfield are reunited in this frothy made-for-cable romantic comedy. Priestly plays Ryan Banks, a once-popular movie actor whose career is in the toilet, not only because of bad role choices but also because of his unsavory reputation as an irresponsible womanizer. In hopes of revitalizing Ryan's career, his manager and best friend Todd Doherty (Bradley Cooper) comes up with an inspiration: A network reality show called "I Want to Marry Ryan Banks", in which the title character will live in the same house with 15 attractive young women, all of them prospective brides. In fine Mark Burnett tradition, one of the female contestants will be voted out each week by the viewers, with the winner chosen by popular demand. The girl who seems to have the inside track is blue-collar Charlene "Charlie" Norton (Emma Caulfield), who has entered the contest because she needs the prize money. Complications arise when, as the series draws ever nearer to its conclusion, Charlie balks at the notion of wedding Ryan Banks, only to be told that if she doesn't, she'll be sued within an inch of her life--and making things even stickier, Todd Doherty has fallen in love with Charlie himself! Produced for the ABC Family channel, I Want to Marry Ryan Banks was first seen on January 18, 2004. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide

A British series that originally premiered September 3, 2001, on Cartoon Network Europe, the animated The Cramp Twins was based on the graphic novels of Brian Wood. The protagonists are a pair of ten-year-old twin brothers, Wayne and Lucien Cramp. The blue-skinned Wayne is the embodiment of evil and self-indulgence, while the peach-skinned Lucien is sweet-natured and a friend of the environment. Our heroes lived in Soap City with their obsessive-compulsive mother and frustrated cowboy dad, while Lucien's best friend, teeny-tiny Tony Parsons, resided in a nearby swamp. The American debut of The Cramp Twins occurred February 8, 2003, on the Fox network. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide
