Escaping from prison, ferocious female warrior Callisto (Hudson Leick) again prepares to wreak vengeance upon her mortal enemy, Xena (Renee O'Connor). Meanwhile, Gabrielle (Renee O'Connor) joyously prepares for her marriage to Perdicus (Scott Garrison). When her lover is killed as the result of Callisto's rampage, Gabrielle demands that Xena teach her how to mete out deadly retribution. "They're the toughest anti-terrorist strike force in the world. But they've never faced an enemy like this." The "they" mentioned in the ad copy for Death Train are headed by Pierce Brosnan. The enemy is rogue Russian general Christopher Lee, who has stolen two nuclear bombs, intending to hold the world for ransom. The bombs are placed on two trains, which are then engaged in a breakneck race by the general via remote control. Things really get dangerous when one of the trains is hijacked! Alexandra Paul and Patrick Stewart also star in this middling actioner, which manages to stir up suspense only during the climactic detonation sequence. Originally titled Alastair MacLean's Death Train when it premiered over the USA Cable Network on April 14, 1993, the film was retitled Detonator for its theatrical release. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide
Liebestraum is a moody, stylish suspense thriller written and directed by British director Mike Figgis. Nick (Kevin Anderson) is an architectural writer who goes home to be with his dying mother, Mrs. Anderssen (Kim Novak) from whom he was separated as a baby. There he meets an old friend and has an affair with the friend's wife, who was herself adopted after her mother went insane. Through a series of coincidences and a good deal of investigation Nick learns some terrible truths concerning everyone. The film, while beautiful to look at, and with a wonderful score composed by Figgis, is more interested in style and emotion rather than cogent explanations for the actions of the characters, however, taken for what it is, a mood piece, Liebestraum succeeds beautifully. Figgis has beautiful technique and is greatly aided by Juan Ruiz-Anchia's stark and evocative images. ~ Linda Rasmussen, All Movie Guide

Even 17 years of marriage is not nearly as painful as the toothache currently plaguing Al Bundy (Ed O'Neill). In desperation, Al visits his neighbor Marcy's (Amanda Bearse) dentist, who bears the Three Stoogelike name of Dr. Plierson (Joe Flaherty).
