Brian (voice of Seth MacFarlane) tells his shrink that nothing thrills him anymore. He's watched the Behind the Music with Leif Garrett so many times that he's memorized it. It's suggested that Brian needs to think about the needs of others for a change; his shrink recommends volunteer work. He takes a blind man to a movie and describes it to him (clearly, the film is The Blair Witch Project -- "Nothing's happening...something about a map...nothing's happening...it's over.") and plays checkers with an old woman. The volunteer work doesn't go too well. But things take a happier turn when Joe (voice of Patrick Warburton) suggests Brian put his talented nose to work for the police. Brian can smell cocaine a mile away, and is soon touring schools as "McGriffin, the Drug Dog." But he soon discovers he has more than a professional interest in the substance. Meanwhile, at the company picnic, Peter (MacFarlane) wins a week's paid vacation. But the Griffins put off their trip to the Bahamas to support Brian as he goes into rehab. Peter is so impressed with the well-appointed Providence Rehab Center ("This is where God would come if he had to stop doing blow!") that he decides to spend his vacation there, posing as a heroin addict. He's a bad influence, luring Brian out of group therapy so they can spy on the pregnant teens across the lake. Brian's therapist at the center tells him that he'll never recover unless he gets away from Peter's negative influence. Brian decides he does need some time away, and takes off for parts unknown. Making great fun of the '70s, this lively sci-fi comedy centers on a trio of time travellers who go into the past in hopes of retrieving the Constitution to celebrate America's 300th birthday. Cheerleader Camp, a routine teen slasher film, follows the adventures of a group of teenage girls who go away to a cheerleader camp for the summer. Alison Betsy Russell, one of the group, is having nightmares. Brent, her boyfriend, has followed her to the camp but really seems more interested in the other girls. When those girls are found murdered, Alison believes she may be the killer. This routine slasher film follows the established formula with lots of attractive young women being killed in bloody and inventive ways and while only average, Cheerleader Camp, also released as Bloody Pom Poms, will please lovers of the genre. ~ Linda Rasmussen, All Movie Guide

With a cast starring such comic veterans as Harvey Korman, Anne Meara, Jack Weston and Tim Conway (who also wrote the script), and executive produced by Mike Nichols, it is normally a safe bet that hiliarity will ensue. Unfortunately, this sure thing does not pay off and is disappointingly dumb as it tells the tale of four luckless gamblers who in desperation borrow a large sum for a local loanshark so they can bet on a particular horse. Unfortunately, they bet on the wrong nag and suddenly the foursome must scramble around for quick cash before the loanshark's thugs show up for some bruising payback. ~ Sandra Brennan, All Movie Guide

In this uneven Kiwi action-adventure with a few plot holes here and there, two Americans get into trouble when they accept a job delivering some dangerous cargo and then spend the rest of their time escaping the bad guys. Scientist Christine Rubin (Lisa Harrow) steals a biological weapon in the form of a deadly virus, intending to hand it over to an American intelligence agent to keep it out of the hands of military mercenaries. She recruits a down-and-out stunt driver (Cliff Robertson) and his mechanic (Leif Garrett) to be the couriers -- which sets them up as targets, and the chase is on. ~ Eleanor Mannikka, All Movie Guide

One of Cannon Films' two 1976 Italian-Israeli co-productions starring Lee Van Cleef and Leif Garrett (Gianfranco Parolini's Pistola di Dio was the other), this spaghetti western was actually shot in the Middle East by American director Joseph Manduke. Pop star Garrett plays Tom, a teenager who teams with a black gunfighter named Isaac (Jim Brown) to avenge his family. The culprit was McClain (Van Cleef), a sadistic outlaw who carried out the brutal rape-massacre, but his role is minor, as most of the film deals with Tom's maturation and coming to terms with his feelings. Omnipresent 1970s character actors Glynnis O'Connor and John Marley co-star. If there is anything remarkable about Kid Vengeance, it is Francesco Masi's fine musical score, but the film is otherwise anemic. ~ Robert Firsching, All Movie Guide

Rated R for violence, this is another of the promises broken to us by the movie industry. When they promise that we won't have to see something again, why can't they make it happen? Although this, like the Jason movies (Friday the 13th ad nauseam), is followed by a made for TV movie and a series, they really have to be prequels to this "final chapter," as dictated by the fiery conclusion of the movie. The story of a sheriff who just isn't going to take it anymore, it is based on a true story but, as with all Hollywood fare, made larger than life. ~ Tana Hobart, All Movie Guide

Having already exhausted the dramatic possibilities of fire with The Towering Inferno, producer Irwin Allen turns to water in the made-for-TV Flood! The film is set in a small community, conveniently (for the purposes of the plot) located near a huge earthen dam. As the flood waters rise and the dam threatens to collapse, we are made privy to the individual reactions of such all-star victims-to-be as Robert Culp, Martin Milner, Richard Basehart, Cameron Mitchell, Barbara Hershey, Teresa Wright and Carol Lynley. As in Inferno, helicopter pilots come to the rescue. Most of the film was shot in Eugene, Oregon. Flood! first aired on November 24, 1976. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide

Though not officially acknowleged at the time of its telecast, the made-for-TV movie The Last Survivors was a rehash of the 1957 theatrical feature Abandon Ship; both in fact were based on the same true story. A typhoon at sea has sunk a ship, leaving Alexander Holmes (Martin Sheen) as the highest ranking officer to survive. Commandeering a crowded lifeboat, Holmes must face the fact that the tiny vessel is in danger of floundering itself--and there's another typhoon on the way. Thus is Holmes forced to "play God", decided who among the passengers will allowed to remain in the lifeboat, and who will be cast overboard.
