After 300 years of conflict between the rival kingdoms of Delphi and Lockland, Lockland's king, Phillip (Adrian Pintea), entrusts the fate of his land to a sorcerer named Armand (Larry Drake). Using the king's blood, Armand bring an enormous statue of a terrifying gryphon to life. Almost immediately, the treacherous magician and his en changed pet turn on the king and attempt to take over both Lockland and Delphi. Soon, Princess Amelia of Lockland (Amber Benson) and Prince Seth of Delphi (Jonathan LaPaglia) must forge an unlikely alliance to find the only weapon powerful enough destroy the gryphon. Unfortunately for them, the fabled Drakonian Pike has been broken into two pieces -- and both are lost to antiquity. After premiering in the Sci-Fi Channel cable network on January 27, 2007, Gryphon was released on DVD as Attack of the Gryphon. The made-for-TV paranormal thriller The Dead Will Tell was based on a "true" story suggested by famed psychic James Van Praagh, who also shows up in a cameo role. When Emily Parker (Anne Heche) is given a very old engagement ring by her fiancé, Billy (Jonathan LaPaglia), she is suddenly haunted by visions of the woman to whom the ring previously belonged. It soon becomes painfully clear that the spectral woman was murdered, and that she is "reaching out" to Emily in hopes of trapping her killer. Adding extra layers of intrigue to the proceedings is the peculiar behavior of Billy's overprotective mother (Kathleen Quinlan). Other key players in the mystery are portrayed by Eva Longoria (Desperate Housewives), Christopher Guest, and, as the widower of the dead woman, Chris Sarandon. Six friends in their mid- to late twenties are forced to deal with the sticky business of adulthood in this independent comedy drama. For close to ten years, Paul (Elon Gold) has organized a weekend getaway for his college friends every summer at his folks' cottage in upstate New York. This year, the number of attendees has dwindled to six, which disappoints Paul, as he prefers to look back on his past rather than deal with his present. Paul and his wife, Julia (Amanda Peet), have been trying to have a child, but she has been mixed feelings about the notion of parenthood, which are aggravated when she learns she is indeed pregnant. Stan (Jonathan LaPaglia) is still reeling from a recent bout with testicular cancer, as well as a bad breakup with his girlfriend Kate (Sybil Temchen). As it happens, Kate's pal Laura (Jean Louisa Kelly) is attracted to Stan, but between his weakened physical state and his mixed feelings about his breakup, he's not sure if he should proceed. And ladies' man Fisher (Michael Kelly), disappointed by the dearth of single woman, decides to act on his feelings for Julia; while Julia is flattered, she's not sure if Fisher is worth throwing away her marriage.
