A recently married couple find that it's friends and family who make a relationship difficult in this comedy-drama from writer, director, and actor Edward Burns. Buzzy (Burns) and Katie (Caitlin Fitzgerald) are a couple who have been married for just a few months, though Buzzy already jokes that they get along so well because they don't spend much time together. The two get a preview of what may be in store for them when they spend some time with Katie's sister Marsha (Marsha Dietlein Bennett) and Buzzy's close friend Max (Max Baker). Marsha and Max are married, and as they swap bitter insults and petty accusations, it becomes clear just how uncomfortable a marriage can become after a few years. With the memories of this uncomfortable evening hanging in the air, Buzzy and Katie are confronted by another familial annoyance: his sister Linda (Kerry Bishe), who has dropped in unannounced from California for the first time in years. Linda crashes on the couch and helps herself to Katie's wardrobe for a few days, which fuels the growing tension between the couple, and things come to a breaking point when Linda brings home a drunken hookup without warning. Midway through the 21st century, Lincoln Six Echo (Ewan McGregor) lives in a confined indoor community after ongoing abuse of the Earth has rendered most of the planet uninhabitable. One of the only places in the outside world still capable of sustaining life is an idyllic island where citizens are chosen to live through a lottery. Or at least that's what Lincoln and his fellow citizens are taught to believe; the truth is that Lincoln, like everyone he knows, is actually a clone who is kept under wraps to provide needed organs when the person who supplied his or her DNA falls ill. When he becomes aware that his existence is a fraud, Lincoln escapes to the outside world with a fellow clone, Jordan Two Delta (Scarlett Johansson), though the powers that be are determined to see that no one gets away alive. Two guys with different sets of problems find themselves bonding through unexpected circumstances in this independent comedy drama from writer and director Edward Burns. Jack Stanton (Edward Burns) is a former New York City cop who has been trying to establish a new career as a private detective, though his level of success is best indicated by the fact his landlord is about to evict him for not paying the rent. Jack finally lands a paying client when he's referred to Abe Fiannico (David Krumholtz), a high-school baseball coach whose wife, Kitty, has disappeared. The only clue Abe has to her whereabouts is a recent newspaper photo that shows a washed-up rock star hanging out with several women, one of whom is a dead ringer for Kitty. Jack sets out to scour the Big Apple in search of Kitty, and Abe tags along; a friendship grows between the two men, and Jack begins to wonder why regular-guy Abe ever got mixed up with a woman who doesn't seem to have much use for him. It's Cordelia's birthday, but her biggest present appears to be yet another debilitating vision. During the out-of-body experience that follows, Cordy (Charisma Carpenter) receives a visit from Skip (David Denman), a demon advisor who tells her that her human form was never intended to withstand the visions of The Powers That Be and that she'll die if she remains on her current path. Given the chance to live an alternate life in which she's a famous actress who never even worked for Angel Investigations, she reluctantly agrees. But circumstances conspire to reunite her with Angel (David Boreanaz), Wesley (Alexis Denisof), and Gunn (J. August Richards), and she regains her memories of having been the conduit of the Powers. Ultimately, she convinces Skip to make her part-demon so that her body can withstand the visions and she can keep helping Angel. Cordy returns to the hotel and amazes the gang with her pain-free visions -- and her apparent ability to levitate.
