A privileged Dublin teen commits an impulsive act of violence that shakes his community to the core while plunging his life into a desperate tailspin. Richard Carlsen (Jack Reynor) was an 18-year-old rugby player with a bright future ahead of him. With graduation fast approaching, Richard and his friends attempt to make the most of their last summer together by stirring up mischief in the countryside. It's there that Richard meets Lara (Róisín Murphy), a pretty girl who quickly falls for the charismatic athlete. Trouble arises, however, when Lara's friendship with Richard's volatile teammate Conor (Sam Keeley) results in a tragic confrontation at a crowded house party. Consumed by shame as his friends and neighbors contend with the fallout of his reprehensible crime, Richard is devastated by the realization that even loving his father (Lars Mikkelsen) seems to have lost all respect for him. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi

The second season of That '70s Show finds Lisa Robin Kelly becoming a regular in the heretofore recurring role of Laurie Forman, irresponsible sister of 1970s Wisconsin high schooler Eric Forman (Topher Grace). Having moved back into her parents' home after flunking out of college, Laurie has been dallying sexually with Eric's friend Michael Kelso (Ashton Kutcher), who in turn has been hiding these dalliances from his girlfriend, Jackie Burkhart (Mila Kunis). In addition to Eric, Laurie, and their parents, Red (Kurtwood Smith) and Kitty (Debra Jo Rupp), another of Eric's friends, the scruffy Steve Hyde (Danny Masterson) has been living in the Forman home ever since his mom deserted him. Throughout season two, Eric's romance with his lifelong friend (and next-door neighbor) Donna Pinciotti (Laura Prepon) waxes and wanes, then heats up considerably, causing Kitty to have a nervous breakdown when she discovers that Eric and Donna are having sex. In other developments, Laurie briefly causes her parents grief when she moves in with a married guy; Red Forman sells Eric's beloved Vista Cruiser as an indirect result of a serving of Hyde's "hash brownies"; unemployed throughout much of the season, Red lands a job as a supermarket manager, only to find himself the boss of his own son Eric; the marriage of Donna's parents, Bob (Don Stark) and Midge (Tanya Roberts), continues to disintegrate; and Eric's exchange-student pal, Fez (Wilmer Valderrama), remains a virgin, despite his most strenuous efforts to alter this condition. The season ends on a cliffhanger, as Hyde takes the rap when Jackie is caught with a stash of pot. ~ Rovi

Barely recognizable under a blonde wig and several layers of garish makeup, Kirstie Alley stars in this made-for-TV drama as Marty, a freewheeling waitress who compensates for the emptiness in her life with jokes and wisecracks. On the verge of finding emotional fulfillment with a new romance, Marty is crippled in a freak traffic accident. Her subsequent efforts to adjust to her paraplegic state are hampered by a vicious assault from a mugger -- not to mention her erstwhile boyfriend's desertion. Hitting rock bottom, Marty is awash in booze and self-pity when redemption appears in the unlikely form of a handsome, upbeat guy in a wheelchair named Joe Mulvey (Jason Beghe). Suddenly originally aired December 1, 1996, on ABC. ~ Hal Erickson, Rovi

When the "FYI" studio is decimated by a truck (you had to be there!), the news team heads en masse to Murphy's alma mater, where our heroine is to receive a doctorate for helping to create the school's Women's Studies Program. Murphy (Candice Bergen) of course anticipates being received like a conquering warrior by the female students. Unfortunately, times have changed, and now Murphy's "protégées" regard her particular brand of feminism as being hopelessly out of date! Featured among the students is future That 70s Show regular Lisa Robin Kelly. ~ Hal Erickson, Rovi

Peggy (Katey Sagal) despairs when her daughter Kelly breaks the Wanker Women family tradition by getting a job (actually, Kelly has had several jobs in the past few seasons, by why let a little thing like continuity get in the way of the story?) Landing a position as a waitress, Kelly finds that she gets bigger tips the more she dishes out philosophy. Series regular Amanda Bearse, who directed this episode, does not appear. ~ Hal Erickson, Rovi
