Originally telecast on September 24, 1978, "Little Miss Bunker" begins as Edith's shiftless cousin, Floyd (Marty Brill), pays a visit to the Bunkers. As usual, Floyd leeches off his hosts, but this time he leaves something behind: His nine-year-old daughter. Danielle Brisebois joins the cast as Stephanie Mills. Working as a volunteer at a neighborhood help center, Louise (Isabel Sanford) tries to find a worthwhile job for ghetto youth Marcus Garvey Henderson. Much against his will, Louise's husband, George (Sherman Hemsley), hires Marcus for one of his dry-cleaning establishments. Not long afterward, a costly suede jacket turns up missing. Feeling that the recently widowed Florida (Esther Rolle) is spending too much time home alone, the Evans kids cancel their own plans to spend the evening with their mom. An uncommonly lavish roast beef dinner proves disastrous when the entire Evans household comes down with food poisoning. An outraged Florida (Esther Rolle) gathers her neighbors together and organizes a boycott of the market that sold her the tainted food. Although Fred (Redd Foxx) and cronies mourn the death of their old pal Junior Cooper, they don't agree with Aunt Esther's "all mourning, all the time" philosophy. Instead, they decide to laugh in the face of the Grim Reaper by throwing a huge a raucous party -- and among the invited guests is that infamous exotic dancer Fast Fanny (Bhetty Waldron). Returning to Fiji for the first time since WW2, Ironside is anxious to be reunited with a wartime friend. Upon his arrival, however, Ironside is informed that his friend has left for San Francisco to meet him. Suspecting foul play, Ironside summons Mark and Ed to the islands--only to mysteriously vanish himself. Central to the mystery is a well-coordinated scheme to steal gold from the US government. Featured in the cast are two 1960s TV icons: Alan Napier, aka "Alfred the Butler" on Batman; and Bernard Fox, whose many sitcom roles included Dr. Bombay on Bewitched and Malcolm Merriwether on The Andy Griffth Show. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide
