The Sliders have landed on a planet where everyone is blissfully happy--so much so that Quinn (Jerry O'Connell) may give up his search for Kromagg Prime and remain in his new home permanently. The only person who expresses anything other than unbridled joy is a sad-eyed little girl (Antoinette Picatto), who has been consumed with grief ever since she witnessed her grandfather jumping into a pure-energy chasm. Ultimately the girl jumps as well, but not before transferring all her sorrow to Rembrandt (Cleavant Derricks)...who may end up spreading his murderous melancholy to everyone he meets. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide
The detectives and the lawyers again run up against the brick wall of military jurisprudence while investigating the death of a Navy pilot. McCoy finally narrows the suspects down to the dead man's lover, also a pilot. Unfortunately, the Navy and the Judge Advocate General form a united front to block further investigation -- and, perhaps, to prevent justice from prevailing. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide
In this sequel to the fifth-season episode "Coma," Larry Miller reprises the role of sleazy former comedy-club owner Michael Dobson. Having been acquitted of murdering his first wife, Dobson ends up the prime suspect when his second wife is killed while jogging in Central Park. Larry Miller guest stars as Michael Dobson, an abusive comedy-club owner suspected of shooting his wife. According to the D.A.'s office, the victim was poised to get a divorce, something that Dobson could not tolerate. As the woman lies comatose, the lawyers must determine exactly what charges will be levied against the contemptible Dobson. Without revealing the outcome of the story, it can be noted that the sixth-season Law & Order episode "Encore" could be called a sequel. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide
Sebastian Roche guest stars as "C Square" Carmichael, a flamboyant rock star described by detective Logan (Chris Noth) as "number one on Tipper Gore's hit list for dirty words." C Square also has quite a reputation as a womanizer, so it comes as no surprise when he is accused of raping college co-ed Julia Wood (Lucy Deakins). But was it really rape, or was it consensual, as the singer's defense attorney claims? ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide
Fifty-three people die in a fire at a private Manhattan nightclub. Suspects include a disgruntled patron who was not allowed entry to the popular night-spot, and a rival club owner. This episode is distinguished by its impressive supporting cast of Hispanic actors. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide
A departmental intelligence test reveals that court bailiff Bull (Richard Moll) is at a "genius" level, with an I.Q. of 181! Duly impressed by himself, Bull accepts a job with a scientific think tank, where his responsibilities include contemplating the mysteries of life (from how gravity works to why men have nipples) and telepathic communication with lab animals. What he doesn't know is that his female colleague Dr. Judith Malloy (Robin Curtis) has something on her mind other than Bull's intellect. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide
Tom Christo (Griffin Dunne) is a New York TV writer-director in a dead-end marriage to Leslie (Blanche Baker). He meets the intriguing Marty Fenton (Marissa Chibas), a research scientist, when she attends a party Tom and his wife give at their home. Even though there is an initial attraction between Tom and Marty, their eventual pairing takes a long time to evolve as each have their own partners (Marty has a boyfriend) and first must go through separation and a series of disastrously failed blind dates. Although slow in developing and stereotypical enough to register as banal, the storyline is greatly enhanced by the interpretations of the two leads. ~ Eleanor Mannikka, All Movie Guide
