Based in part on the writings of former CIA case officer Robert Baer, Syriana combines multiple storylines to explore the complexities that befall a proposed merger between two U.S. oil giants. Reform-minded Gulf country prince Nasir (Alexander Siddig) is in favor of making his nation more self-sufficient rather than U.S.-reliant, and his money-minded Western connections couldn't be less pleased. Before settling into a cushy desk job for the remainder of his career, CIA agent Bob Barnes (George Clooney) is sent on one last assignment -- to assassinate Prince Nasir and reinstate U.S. ties in the oil-rich region. Though his loyalty dictates that Barnes carry out his current mission despite lingering doubts of a previous blunder, his mission goes horribly awry when his field contact goes turncoat and Barnes becomes a CIA scapegoat. Meanwhile, up-and-coming Washington attorney Bennett Holiday (Jeffrey Wright) attempts to walk a fine line in overseeing a tenuous merger between two oil giants that's plagued with shady business dealings. Hotshot energy analyst Bryan Woodman (Matt Damon) is in talks to form a lucrative partnership with Prince Nasir, though the death of his son during a party at the prince's estate makes him question his loyalty to business over family. When J'onn J'onnz is unable to telepathically decipher these dreams, Green Arrow and The Question try to help Supergirl -- who soon tumbles to the possibility that she might not be dreaming at all. This just in: Nightline meets The Mary Tyler Moore Show in Lateline, an ensemble TV sitcom about a late-night news-and-issues series with a show-within-a-show format, incorporating real-life guests and using digital time updates and video to contrast "on-air" scenes with the filmed footage of the main story. Al Freundlich (Al Franken) is a correspondent on the latenight Lateline, a series headed by the somewhat sinister executive producer Vic Karp (Miguel Ferrer), with the help of sharp producer Gale Ingersoll (Megyn Price), assistant Mona (Catherine Lloyd Burns), witty guest booker Briana (Sanaa Lathan), intern Raji (Ajay Naidu), and anchorman Pearce McKenzie (Robert Foxworth). Al Franken (Saturday Night Live) and John Markus (Cosby Show) are the creators and executive producers, with Andy Ackerman (Seinfeld) producing and directing. Variety praised Lateline as "sly, edgy, spirited, charmingly cynical and populated by a bevy of lovable eccentrics who don't treat a punch line like a medicine ball." Apparently intended to be shown right after the 1996 Real Adventures of Jonny Quest episode "Bloodline," "The Bangladore Falcon" was held back from release until February 14, 1997. While touring Bangalore, India, the Quest team teenagers find a rare falcon, which may or may be not be able to lead the kids to the legendary city of Shambala. Also expressing an inordinate interest in the falcon are the beautiful but lethal twin daughters of the team's old nemesis Dr. Zin. Lucy Liu, here billed as Lucy Xavier Liu, provides the voice of Melana Zin.

As Jonny and his father Benton embark upon a "Fantastic Voyage" through the girl's thought processes to undo Surd's damage, Jessie herself proves to be more than a match for the Quests' perennial foe. Travelling to Indonesia in the company of Jonny and Jessie, Race finds that his assignment is even more dangerous than he expected it to be -- and that the "curse" is far more than a silly superstition. This leads to a close encounter with a troubled ghost who intends to prevent a wealthy wastrel from reaping the benefits of an old family secret. The Quest team is summoned to investigate the phenomenon and hopefully send the ghost back where it came from. All-purpose villain Jeremiah Surd hijacks Air Force One and kidnaps the president. Unfortunately, Surd has planted evidence pointing the finger at Benton Quest and Race Bannon. With government agents hot on their heels, the Quest Team teenagers -- Jonny , Jessie, and Hadji -- endeavor to absolve their parents of guilt and to track down the real miscreant. The title character in this episode is our old "friend" Dr. Zin, who this time around takes over a Malaysian satellite designed by Benton Quest. Rewiring the device, Zin threatens to blow up the world unless he is given a substantial amount of money. Voice actor Clyde Kusatsu makes his first "appearance" as the redoubtable Zin.
