Eleven-year-old Emily (Kaitlyn Burke) is an environmental activist in training, having saved a bear cub wounded by poachers and nursed it back to health . When Emily's 16-year-old sister Melissa (Kimberley Warnat) -- another would-be environmentalist -- and her high school pal Daniel (Kristian Ayre) go to the woods to document evidence of a shady millionaire's (Alan Thicke) clear-cutting operation, Emily follows her and promptly gets washed away down a fast-flowing woodland river. Soon everyone is looking for the lost girl, including Melissa and Scott (Eric Johnson), a hunky slice of logger beefcake. Seriously injured in the auto accident that killed her husband, Clare Miller (Dana Delany) has a bizarre near-death experience while on the operating table. Confined to a wheelchair after the tragedy, Clare suddenly discovers that the dream may have been no dream at all: She now has the power to heal. First curing her own physical infirmities, Clare moves on to heal others who are suffering. Unfortunately, these "miracles" are limited: Clare seems totally unable to heal the emotional problems that have distanced her from her friends and loved ones, problems that only seem to be getting worse. In her TV-movie acting debut, singer Amy Grant is cast as Maryann Lowery, a blind music teacher. When her conservatory classroom is presumptively taken over by arrogant New Age pianist Gregory Pavan (D.W. Moffett), Maryann, unimpressed by the man's celebrity, is outraged -- until Pavan enthusiastically declares that Maryann has what it takes to become a world-renowned concert cellist. As the two temperamental musicians become romantically involved, Maryann's sensitive widowed neighbor Oliver Comstock (Keith Carradine), who has always worshipped her from afar, quietly despairs. It will take a sight-restoring operation before Maryann's eyes are (literally) opened to her true and lasting love.
