Created by Eric Bress and J. Mackye Gruber, the 60-minute supernatural drama series Kyle XY was set in Washington state. Matt Dallas headed the cast as 17-year-old orphan Kyle, designated a "savant" because, although he possessed heightened intelligence, he was completely bereft of such normal human emotions as anger, joy, and love. Adopted by paranormal psychologist Nicole Trager (Marguerite MacIntyre), Kyle came to live with Nicole's family, including husband Stephen (Bruce Thomas) and children Lori (April Matson) and Josh (Jean-Luc Bilodeau). Each episode revealed a bit more about Kyle's unique abilities on a "need-to-know" basis, and also a few tantalizing clues concerning his hitherto mysterious background. There were also hints aplenty that Kyle was not "of this world" -- for example, he was apparently born without a navel (and his real name wasn't Barbara Eden!). Moreover, Kyle's voice-over narration was peppered with Biblical references and hark backs to famous science fiction films, further deepening the mystery and heightening the audience's fascination with this most enigmatic of TV heroes. Annie Potts stars in the true story of Colorado housewife Julie Posey, whose sense of outrage goes into overdrive when her teenaged daughter is solicited online by a sexual predator. When her efforts to track down the pervert are thwarted, she briefly gives up -- only to be spurred forward with the encouragement of her husband when another little girl is killed by another Internet pedophile. Posing as a 14-year-old girl, Julie, working in concert with dedicated police detective Mike Harris (Michael O'Keefe), brings her daughter's would-be rapist out of the shadows, then embarks upon a worldwide crusade to stop other such pedophiles in their high-tech tracks. Also known as Bitter Suite, the made-for-cable romantic comedy TimeShare is predicated on the premise that two extremely different people have been booked to occupy the same California house at different times of the year. The inevitable mix-up in scheduling occurs, forcing humorless German scientist Julia Weiland (Nastassja Kinski) to spend the summer under the same roof with divorced chef Matt (Timothy Dalton). Not surprisingly, this is an oil-and-water combination, made worse by the endless bickering between Julia and Matt's equally ill-matched children. Will True Love eventually prevail over divergent personalities--and what of Julia's "Ralph Bellamy" boyfriend, stuffy bioengineer Russell (Geoffrey Lower? Craig M. Saavedra made his feature directorial debut with this romantic comedy-drama. After the death of her sister-in-law, Lilah Bloom (Penelope Ann Miller) began taking care of her brother Mitch (Ron Silver) and his three children. When Mitch meets career woman Debra (Caroline Goodall), Lilah confronts the possibility of life alone, but then she finds romance with musician Jack (Craig Sheffer). Conflicts arise when Mitch and Debra separate, Mitch assumes life will continue as before, but now Lilah has a newfound independence. The first feature from the 20th Century-Fox animation unit in Phoenix, Arizona, this is the ninth film produced and directed by the Don Bluth/Gary Goldman duo (An American Tail) and the first animated feature to be made in CinemaScope since Disney's Sleeping Beauty (1959). This $50 million animated fantasy retells the story of Anastasia, daughter of Czar Nicholas, beginning with her childhood in 1916 Russia. After Rasputin's curse on the Romanovs, little Anastasia is separated from her grandmother, the Dowager Empress Maria. After growing up in an orphanage, Anastasia emerges as a young woman called Anya. With no clear memory of her youth, Anya encounters entrepreneurs who seek an Anastasia look-alike in hopes of collecting a reward in Paris from the aged Dowager Empress.
