In between the big-budget Blade and The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, British filmmaker Stephen Norrington directs the straight-to-video crime drama The Last Minute. Told in flashback, the story follows the rise and fall of Billy Byrne (Max Beesley). With a determined goal to be famous, he lands his first big show with the help of his slick agent, Walsh (Anthony Higgins). Fame comes quickly as he travels the globe and gets invited to hip clubs, becoming the darling of the London art scene. Due to his excessive, self-centered behavior, his girlfriend Janey (Kate Ashfield) leaves him. A man looks outside the law for justice and discovers the price was far higher than he expected in the drama Out of Depth. Paul (Sean Maguire) is a graphic designer who is furiously angry and appalled when a drunken thug beats up his mother (Rita Tushingham) and adds insult to injury by urinating on her. Paul vows revenge, but an old chum from school, Steve (Danny Midwinter), tells him he has connections with strong-arm men who would be happy to do the dirty work for him. Paul is introduced to Lenny (Nicholas Ball), an unscrupulous gangster who makes sure the low life who beat up Paul's mum is dealt with harshly. However, Lenny then demands pay back by forcing Paul to deliver some drugs for him, which leads him into unexpected danger. Stewart Sugg made his directorial debut with this low-budget British comedy-drama. Returning home to London after a long absence, Benny (Douglas Henshall) can't find the proper footing in an ever-changing world. He's in contact with phone-sex talker Letitia (Emily Woof), meets her, and learns she's actually his childhood sweetheart, Claudia, daughter of the local shop owner.
